holy crap rich what are you nuts? if you scrap a mark VIII at least take the parts off, it should look more like this.....
iwillmissyou014.jpg

you left so many parts on that thing!!

I know how you feel. It's a little sad.

A moment of silence.

I just finished with my red Mark Sunday. My first Mark VIII, that I bought in 2001.

It's good to get all the good parts though.:D

Don't worry Jamie, the only good part left on mine was the paint. And that was only where there was some steel left under it.:)

man o man, i see lights still, body side mouldings, you guys are lazy lol!!!
when i am done we dont even need tires to get them hauled away, we can pick them up by hand and place them on the tow truck lol!!

Well you forget Jamie .. Wisconsin .. it's called Rust ... What didn't come off wasn't worth taking off ... Trunk lid had rust ... doors and and front quarters were rusty ...

230,000 miles on the engine .... Tranny was on it's last leg ... So I took off all that I needed ...

All salvageable parts from the engine that I could put on the shelf ... All interior past were saved ....

I took what I needed .... Wheels were $hit ... plus I have enough spair sets ...

I got about the same parts that Rich did. I did get the engine and trans that are still good though. My deck lid is decent too.

Rusty parts are useless. I was going to take the fenders but even those were rusted at the bottom. Nobody would want to put rusty parts on a nice car. The chrome trim around the rear lights were crap.

The best parts were the parts that I recently put on, including an almost perfect fuel tank from Jamie.:)

I've got some close up shots that will make you southeren folks cringe.:D

Only way I'll get rid of a car is if it's totalled. But that's just me. I'll do my best to repair any and all rust and keep it from coming back... doing that to a few cars now actually, lol

Well when I purchase this Mark VIII there was cancer on the rocker and some on the door interior.

Car was suppose to be a temp solution to a car problem at the time .... Didn't know I'd fall in love with these cars. Never expected that I'd buy 4 of them plus a Mark VII.

In less than a month from buying this 93 I purchase my 85 Mark VII, then less than a year bought my 94 hit a deer with my 94 sold my 94 and bought my 95. One year later I'd buy my 94 back.

Then to think about it ... find this damn site ... start the Beach Party ... become a mod on the site ... Hmmmmm .... all this from purchasing a 93 Mark VIII with 157,000 miles on it.

If I wanted to put money into this 93 I would have but I felt that I would rather have the parts that I could use on my other cars and put money into them.

This was a great car for the time ... was my wife's car then became my daughter's car, and I had it as my winter driver until it said I need to start putting money into it. Didn't want to do that ... too much rust.

But you Southerners don't understant the rust thing ...

If the car would have been worth saving to me I would have saved it...

Well sometimes a car will lead a person down a road he might never have gone otherwise.

That bare Teksid block is going for around $300 these days. Too bad you didn't pull it for a future build on the 94.

My thoughts exactly :D
Heck sold my 96 that was a temp car that lasted from 133k to 209k. Popped the trans racing a Modded R6 and sold it to a member on here that took it across the country

Now I learned and got a 98' so I wouldn't have to worry about trans problems. However now I have heat and AC problems  Still drivable tho
