Three new mods for the LS.

1. I shaved the center of the plenum cover smooth and painted it to match the LS. Either going to put a "V8" emblem in the center or have it pinstriped to match the LS.

2. BMW M5 lip spoiler. Painted it. To cold to install thou. Needs to warm up.

3. Painted the factory grille to match the LS. Need to get a red Lincoln Star emblem from LSKoncepts. Before I will take any pictures of the LS.

Before anyone ask. NO!!!! I am not selling the McLaren grille. BUT I am selling my chrome plenum cover.

Now for the pictures. The enginebay needs a good cleaning. You can see the M5 spolier in the mddile picture. Behind the plenum cover.

Wow, you did a great job sanding that down. And the paint looks perfect from these shots. I wish I could paint like that. Any time I've tried it looks like ass. My guess is it has to do with the lack of decent equipment. Do the shock tower covers too.

Looks good.....think about painting the shock tower covers but know when to stop.

Hey Rollin that looks awesome. What process did you take to paint that plastic cover? Did you use a flex additive and self-etching primer?

Nice. Paint job looks real good. So you're not going to put up your mclaren up for sale? lol. Yeah, thats what you get for having an out of production grille

An out of production grille that he's not using :(

Looks great though, can't wait for some pics of your new toys on the car.

Beautiful work

Very nice looking mod. Not many of us can paint that well. Takes a certain talent for it.

that grill does look nice, i've been thinking about doing that to my stock grill, so i can take off the LSE for the winter.

the only thing different i want do to it is to paint the parts at the bottom of the grill, between the bars, black just like they do on the LSE grill

great job with the cover, but i think it looks too good... you might want to paint some more covers under there so that one alone doesnt stand out, unless you want that look, i personally would keep going and paint the stuts caps, and maybe even the ps fluid res. cover , but leave the cap black with the yellow symbols, same on the other side, then i would clean the factory paint up, and give that a polish to even out the shine of the engine cover. but damn that was some good sanding, its nice to work on little pieces to perfection, thats good practice for bigger things like automobiles.

That engine cover needs a Lincoln star on it. I'd also either match the intake tube to the cover or have it power coated/painted black. Stands out too much - for my liking anyway. Looks good regardless.

I am dropping it off with a friend on monday. The same guy that did the pinstripe. I am having him do the old school "V8" logo on in the center and match the pinstripe on the side in a smaller scale. I thought about getting a chrome "V8" emblem. But I think paint is a nicer touch. The chrome emblem might look cheesy.

I thought about painting the intake tube. But it would be a REAL PITA to to paint and turn out right.

I really like your LS but I think you should add a darker side marker, or tint it... "OH NO HE DIDN'T" .. "YES HE DID" .. :F

I think the clear side markers look good with the chrome trim. If I painted them or tinted them, the chrome trim would look out of place.

yeah it looks good don't get me wrong but to me its just a little to much lighter than the chrome, I think if it were a bit darker it'd blend very well, that's just me though..

I'm not even here right now.. I'm just passing threw.. :runaway:

looks like someone has been busy. Pin stripe the old school v8 on the cover...... if you can find an old school pin striper who works with brushes even better!

My Gen 2 car seems to run just a little better without the plenum cover.
Perhaps it lets more heat escape so the intake runs cooler.
Took it off one day to look at the injectors and never put it back.
Could file that under free mods.

My friend does old school free hand pinstriping.:D Thats how he laid the stripe on my LS. Free hand with a brush and a good eye. If I can, I will get pictures of him doing the "V8" kogo and post them. He does great work.
