The Mark Being Featured in a Magazine

Just wanted to say that the mesh wheels are like stilettos on a long legged skirt.

youve got one fine Mark sir....and as stated, deep pockets!

nonetheless, an inspiration to us all.

Cheers.

Thanks, I appreciate it, nsjuice :)

Talked to Ryan, and he said the blower made it back to Vortech. After talking to the Vortech guy, everyone agrees The Mark needs a t-trim.

For now, they are going to pulley it back up to the Reichard Racing 3.1, since I already have that pulley. Vortech said I should be able to make around the same amount of boost using the 3.1 on the t-trim, as the 2.7 did on the s-trim.

No eta yet when Vortech is sending the blower back. 2 1/2 weeks to sshs8... The suspense is driving me crazy :)

Bunch of b.s. Mike if you ask me.

Give me your Vortech contact. I'll make sure you have a T-Trim in 2 days.

Do these guys not know that this build has been published and they are making themselves out to be asses?

Please....

If you want a blower pronto, I'll get you one. You just need to speak the right language.:D

Thanks for the offer, Bryan :) But, I have confidence that Ryan will escalate the issue, and make sure the car is done by November 8th for SSHS8. I believe that Will from Super Rod is going to be at the event, and race his Caddy CTS-V.

I agree with you though, that Vortech needs to pay attention. There are plans to post The Mark in their "in the media" or "customer rides" sections of the web site once Ryan sends them all the details from the dyno and the track, along with the Super Rod feature. Part 3 was going to feature the finished project, including the Vortech.

The Mark is going back to Aric's shop tomorrow to have the new T-trim blower installed, and re-tune it again. :)

They are also going to re-plumb the driver's side cam cover oil filler/vent so that it will now vent through a hose into the oil recovery tank hidden in the driver's fender. That should stop the oil spray from the cam cover vent going all over the engine and header.

And finally, they are going to replace that pesky aftercooler silicone coupler that kept popping off at SSHS8 last month. :)

That should do it for now... Have not set a time for Will to do the final feature photo shoot yet. More than likely, I will call him after Aric is done with The Mark to see when he is available. :)

I had the original stock 98 Mark 4R70W transmission totally rebuilt by the Bradshaw Brother's - Mike and Steve from Marietta, GA. They are both Ford Master trans techs. They totally modified and updated the entire transmission with the best parts Ford has for the 4R70W.

They did an awesome job on it a couple years ago, and it has held up as they said it would - handling 500+ rwhp with no problems. I had some extra stuff done, like the PI torque converter, deep well fluid pan, trans cooler, trans mount mod, new tail shaft housing, extra steels and clutches, hardened shaft, 99+ valve body, etc... and labor for it all. So, I am not sure what the cost of just the transmission rebuild was. They can build whatever - stock all the way to full race.

Best thing is to give them a call. You can reach the Bradshaw's through Injected Engineering - Tell Ryan that your a friend of Mike Schultz. Ph. 678-449-6871 or email: info@injectedengineering.com.

hey i was just curious i have thoughts of later one doing the 5.0 kit and a supercharger but i dont want to loose much fuel mileage so my question is do you drive her much and what kinda fuel mileage do you get

Thanks

Lols... you want to stroke and supercharge your car and you are worried about fuel economy...

The Mark is a sunny day car now, and since I work from home, I drive it mostly on the weekends. The last time I check the mileage, it got 19mpg on the highway with the air conditioning on in the summer.

It does real well when you keep your foot out of it, and just cruise along. By the fuel gauge, I drove 200 miles on a half tank of fuel last month going to and from the track without the A/C on. That was starting with a full tank going each way, and only using a 1/4 tank each way. So, I would imagine somewhere in the low 20's per gallon with no A/C on the highway.

The Mark is done. Just waiting for it's turn to get back on the dyno and dial it in for the T-trim. Ryan said they put a 3.3 pulley on it instead of the 3.1, and they are not going to spin the motor past 7k rpm's. There is a concern that fuel might be an issue now, so I guess we might see what the stock lines and rails can actually handle with the Ford GT fuel pump and the KBBAP.

I am really curious to see the dyno numbers and boost comparison between the s-trim and t-trim. Should make for some interesting reading. :)

Sorry but you should have way more than enough fuel.

What, does he think you have a returnless or something?

(reaching deeper and deeper into the bottomless pocket)

I hope your right. lol my original budget was out the window around 25k ago, and I am calling this deal done regardless if I run out of fuel or not. There isn't anything to go by is the concern. I am the only Mark out there with a T-trim that I know of.

The closest he can compare to is the T-trim tbirds he has tuned. They ran out of fuel around 500rwhp, and they had to upgrade.

I would think with the BAP you should be good to 500. I don't see him getting you much more. And you are right, at some point you have to call it quits.

Make sure you post up the dyno numbers with the fuel on there. Lean will ruin your dream.

The Mark is still at the shop relaxing while the guys take some time off for the holidays. Hope to have it home soon!

Some cool news though, Boze/ZEForged, the manufacturer that built the one of a kind forged wheels for The Mark, has posted pictures of the car in their website gallery :)

Check it out here: http://www.bozeforged.com/gallery.html

I love you.....I hate you......I love you even more....... WOW!

mlschultz.... your Mark is beyond words. Thank you for keeping the Mark alive and reveling in it's glory...

Respectfully,
MsM8

Thanks, MsM8 and Gilby :) We have a special car, and I am glad that I was able to bring some attention to the Mark VIII :)

The Mark is all done, and back at home now. :) The T-Trim ended up making the same horsepower as the S-Trim - except the T-trim is being under spinned with a giant 3.33 pulley on there while the S-Trim had a 2.7 pulley on it. Torque is down 20 due to the spool curve of that big pulley. Ryan is sending me the dyno sheet. I think the T-Trim made 16 psig at around 7k rpm.

The breather filter on the cam cover is history - spewed oil everywhere, and it has been modified to vent to the catch can /breather hidden in the fender now. The ipod is also in, and is now in the center console glove box.

Here are a couple pictures, and a video. Enjoy! :)
