how would i go about testing the coils on my 1995 mark viii? it's running rough, seems to be worse when it's cold and wet out. already changed the wires, it seems a little better.

No, you need data stream, obd1 can't data stream... You've got 2 coils.. If 1 is bad, car won't start.

Remove wires from the coil 1 at a time with car running... When a wire is removed it will misfire instantly if working properly. Repeat until you pull a wire that has no effect. Then swap that wire with another. Repeat process on those wires...check spark plugs for proper gap ( .054)

Sounds good, I will try that! I wonder if one could be on it's way out. It also had a dpfe code, could that cause a rough idle. It's also rough taking off and driving @ low rpms.
Seems to run worse when it's wet out, and better after driving for an hour or so. The wires were definately bad, they were sparking all over the place. It is a bit better since i changed them.

What kind of scanner are you using? Many show live data... I thought you were a mechanic or something like that?
I've hooked two different ones up to my car this past few weeks to monitor the O2's among other stuff...

i tried it, and every cylinder seems to make a difference.
im not sure where to look next. i know a lot of vacuum hoses look bad on my car.
