I ran into a guy at Oreillys with a 2001 Ls and he was telling me he had a 6.5L in his LS. I called BS and told him to open the hood, there sat a regular 3.9L. On the engine cover someone had written 6.5 on it with a yellow tire crayon. I said 'dude that means it takes 6.5qts of oil'. He said 'oh ya thats what I meant'. He then told me how he was going to put a supercharger on it and 22's. What a joke. A supercharged LS with 22's...just what the world needs...lol

The 5.4 is a 3V engine.
Depends on what year. I believe 97-03 were 2v, 04 and up are 3v, and the 5.4L Intech (Navigators) were 4v.

It would only make sense that if the motor fits in one it must fit in the other.i'd put money on that having 32 valves
I told Torrie I run jet fuel in mine, he tuned it so it can fly. Runs my-T-fine at 30,000 feet.

I went the other way. Briggs and Straton 2hp lawn mower engine in mine. Yes yes I have to deal with a choke but at 86 MPG who really cares?

Ah yeah I have a Techumseh 5 hp in mine for the city drive and then once im on the highway the jet engine takes over and I agree the choke and pull string is a pain in the winter but you do what you have to do....

well actually the 5.4 is a 2 valve, a 3 valve, and a 4 valve, he obviously didnt know wtf he was talking about anyway and read it off some sticker and thought that must be what he has!
