Suicide doors anybody ??????

Anybody hear of a suicide door kit for the ls ??? I have a 03' and would love to find a kit if possible ! Also if any of you heard of a place that installs landau kits on the roof ??? Let me know !

I seen a picture of an LS with suicide doors somewhere on the internet, where ever that is now lmao... and it looked pretty cool. If you find a kit do it!
 
BrokeLS has his done. I remember him saying it was expensive. Rollin has looked into too, and said the same thing.

Pointless, tasteless, expensive modifications. You would be better off using the money for mods that contribute to aesthetics or performance without looking rice. Or just toss the money in the toilet.

To have them installed will cost you a lot. You will want a shop that knows what they are doing. I have a friend owns his own shop and does custom work. He is cutting me a GREAT deal to do my LS.

As for the top. Try a local ahpolstery shop. I know a few in my area do tops.

How the hell is suicide doors "rice"?:confused: Lambo doors. Very rice. Suicide doors. Classic style. Bentley, Rolls Royce, '64-'66 Lincoln Continental. Just a short list of the brands that have used them and still do.

The landua top.:yuck: Never been a fan of them. I ocasionally see an LS with one. I get sick. I want to pull the owner over and pull it off the car.
 
And Lambo doors came on Lambos from the factory.....still do as a matter of fact. What's your point?
 
By that logic then suicide doors are rice on anything that didn't come with them from the factory.
 
No not at all^ suicide doors are more luxury than rice. And yes you'll find the lambo doors on the street ricers.
 
I agree. Lambo doors are used on everything from civics to escalades and are designed for two door vehicles, whereas suicide doors are designed for 4 door vehicles and were famously on lincolns, and are much rarer to the scene. Suicides are cool. If you can afford it, go for it.
 
There is not much else you can do to a cheap 4-banger car like a civic to make it "classy" like the nice expensive car.

I personally like lambo and suicide doors, I think they look great on a nice car (LS) Its not what you put on your car that makes it look lame, its how you present it. A big silver crane hood ornament on a VW beetle is pretty stupid, but it would look pretty classy on a 1930 Duesenberg even though it isn't factory.

Seems everyone on LVC has a hard-on for lowering their car 2-3" I think THAT is more rice than suicide doors.
 
I think its a silly waste of money. people want tol spend 2k + on doors that open backwards yet no one buys a proper set of wheels for that much (Iforged, HRE, Jline, CCW)

its your car to do as you please but I like my chicken fried, my beer cold and my doors non-suicide.
 
Back in the day, suicide doors were a fairly common 'custom' touch. The usual way of going about it was to simply use the factory latches and hinges, swapping positions as necessary. To eliminate door handles, it is most common to use electric actuation with either hidden buttons or a remote fob. And use 'poppers', of course. All the necessary aftermarket hardware is readily available. Look in the advertising to be found in such publications as 'Rod & Custom'.

I think it fits the LS perfect. Brings back the 63 style to modern day.
 
Always have wanted to pay reapect to the classic Lincolns and modify my LS in this manner. Thanks for the hinge link.
