hey where can i run a wire threw the fire wall?

im trying to get power to my amp. anyone have any ideas?

While this isnt real proper the easiest is to poke a hole in the main wire harness grommet on the drivers side below the brake booster. You can run a hanger through and pull the wire through and it seals up well.

The proper way (but damn near impossible on a Mark) is to drill a hole in the firewall and install a grommet.

Back in the day, I used a spade bit to make my own hole to run the 0 AWG power wire through the firewall of my Oldsmobile. That poor thing. I rattled the :q:q:q:q out of that car LOL

hey bill in order to get to the rubber grommet do i have to take the connecter off?

ive always run them through the outer edge of the steering shaft gromet in the firewall. its way over sized and tons of room to run a wire through and stay clear of the steering shaft by a mile. and its super soft rubber so it seals around the wire.

hey guys where do i run my trigger wire into my power antenna? using my power antenna as my trigger wire.

+10, Ive run them thru there on both of my Marks, and Jacksons Mark. On the engine side I run it from the steering gromet, under the Master Cylinder, then under the strut beauty cover (you'll probably need to trim the front of it some to make a hole for the wires) then under the fuse block, I tuck my fuses between the battery and fuse block, If you spend the $4 each on the painted style battery terminals, it'll make for a nice looking install

No. Deck should have two blue wires. One for ANT and one for "Remote". The "remote" one is the one you use for the amp. It should have a white stripe on it.
If the deck only has one blue remote wire then it runs the antenna and amp.

But if it's run that way, won't the antenna telescope, even if not using the AM/FM?

And IIRC, the AMP wire is solid blue and the Ant is Blue/Wh

Yes but some decks only have the one wire.

And yes, I always cornfuse those two wires.

that's for an after market HU, the factory doesn't have that. does it?
i just tore all that stuff out.

I to use steering shaft grommet, but also have gone in through drivers fender and poke through door jamb wiring boot and gone in that way, worked well
