what would you guys say the average price the dealership will charge me to replace the driver side VCG? looked at the coils the other day and they are drowning in oil. the VCG was replaced when i bought the car, but since it was "14 months ago" im out of the 12mo/10,000 warranty. The guy i bought it from and the sales manager no longer work there so new guys are being dicks and wont help me at all. Anyway, im going to a new dealer to have it done (not a task i really want to take on) but wanted to see what prices you guys have heard of for the work.

THanks

Well seeing the drivers side is the harder side of the two, I would think the dealership would want at least 3 to 4 hours labor to do it plus costs of parts..you could do both sides and replace all the coils yourself for cheaper..Good Luck I just got both gasket kits in today to do the swap for one of my friends

Alldata says 4 hours labor; $33.83 right side, $39.98 left side for the gaskets.

Wow that's cheap for the gaskets. Is that price for just the VCG? or is it for the gasket kit price per side? because there are 7 gaskets per side to change when fixing a valve cover leak.

Just the valve cover gaskets.

I'm in the process of doing my Mark's VCG's right now. Did the passenger side yesterday (took about 6 hours), and am tackling the nightmarish drivers side today.

Felpro gaskets for the complete set of all rubber components contained in the valve cover (2 valve cover gaskets, 8 spark plug gaskets, 20 screw gaskets) I paid $50. They look high quality but I'm not a fan of what their warranty terms are.

coils are roughly $100/each from the dealer. I have heard many LSes owners paying between $1100 - $1400 to do both sides, new gaskets, new coils and new spark plugs.

Thanks guys

I already have the coils and plugs so it will just be the gaskets and labor.
