Spark plug blew out

You Know what I meant, lol, with overhead cams. And yes bring it on, I waited now I get to pay the price. No ones fault but my own. I deserve any crap I get from this. Took the other 7 plugs out today, none were loose, but none were tight. They were installed with the T wrench 60K ago when I changed them.

I'm not pissed about it at all. It's a 10 minute fix, #7 on my car is facing right out the front of the hood. Open the hood, look down, you can see the piston thru the hole. Not a big deal. If it was in the back, I'd be choking myself.

I only go to pops after I break something, not before. Ususally no engineers are involved. Only reason he calls them is because he worked with them all and the millwrights on the LVL line in Romeo for 10 years fixing, trouble shooting, and jerry rigging engines. I think he's fishing for a new engine or heads for my car out of the parts room. We'll be interesting to see what he comes up with. They hold on to a lot of random crap in the parts cage.

XLRVIII I have alot of good info in my head, just have a hard time getting it worded correctly. Between being a tad dyslexic and bi-polar, sometimes I know what I'm trying to say, but it comes out wrong. hell sometimes I'll type something and when I go back thru the posts I can't even understand what the hell I was trying to say. You pretty much have to be good friends with me to understand me, guess thats the only way to put it. I'm not normal by any means.

I'll keep my stupidity to myself now.

Later all.

My #6 blew while just cruizin at 50ish. No warning, just papapapapapapapa.

No warning while driving or days before anyways...

Shortly after buying the car at 67k I decided to change the plugs. I had to use a large 1/2" ratchet to break them free and on a few I had to use that ratchet to get them all the way out. Needless to say they were installed wrong. I knew they were f*cked then but carefully got them out and in. It spit #6 out around 89k, I'm guessing I changed them 72-3ish.

Wasn't really surprized when it happened. As much as little things broke on it this was the first and only time the VIII stranded me. I've accepted its a sausage and to be driven for fun and not counted on.

Expect a car to disappoint you and it always will.... trust it completely and it will never let you down.

You guys got me so worried about this potential issue that I went out to my car this morning and checked the torque on every spark plug. Everything seemed fine, no loose plugs or anything weird.

It will be when you least expect it... muhahahahhaa :D

Go check your ball joints if you're being paranoid, they let go and you might die in a fiery wreck... which is probably a bit worse than installing thread inserts.

Nahh. I know about the front ends on our cars. I *didn't* know much about this spark pug explosions which will shoot out of my engine with incredible force and punch a hole in my hood and then take out a low flying 747 just because I forgot to torque something.

You forgot to add that then your car will explode killing everyone inside setting off a chain reaction of exploding the car behind you and they will die causeing a massive pile up where more will die. You will die, they will die, everyone will die because you didnt check you spark plugs......
