Hey everyone. Today at work, we got a 97 Mustang GT convertible in on trade, and one of the guys in the shop grabbed it to safety check it. While he had it on his lift, I was looking over the car, and remembered that I didn't have any hold down for my spare tire. Later on after he lowered it down, I stuck my head in the trunk and grabbed the little hook thingy, and the plastic wing nut. After I got home, I noticed that the threaded arm/hook thing wasn't quite long enough to make it up through the center of the spare wheel, and it didn't look right anyway. So, my question is, what is the correct method of securing the spare tire in the car? My jack sits up against the wall of the pit in the trunk, and thats all secure. Just wondering about the tire. A picture would be great.
And the car ended up getting wholesaled, so don't think I just took something off a retail car.
