here are a few teasers i shot tonight while billy from presidential detail was working on my 97. i am going to have him email pics he is taking because his camera looks like it cost more than i make in a month!!! but OMG i cannot believe what i am seeing so far. these pics are just the cars clean paint, there is nothing on the car. this is the black stripped clean!

I have all the stuff but not the patience to do it myself. I did it a couple weeks ago but the next night in the moonlight I could see it was covered in swirl marks. :( Paint was silky smooth and nice depth but with a profesional I could get much better. If this weather lets up I may hire someone after the gears are done.

Looks absolutly :q:q:q:q Jamie. I really like it. Still pissed though. Had he listed that car 4 days earlier then it would be mine. :(

Black base= the most fun of colors to buff. Try it in 100+ degrees.

By the way, looks killer Jamie. True test= sunlight. :)

well i have to say that when i saw it listed, the pics, and then picked it up at night it looked good. then driving it home it got covered in salt and dirt so you couldnt tell anyway, but after getting it home, washing it, and seeing how bad it looked, then i clay bar'd it, and it didnt do a :q:q:q:qing thing, this was the only option i had besides repaint it myself. the car has already been painted, they did a decent job painting it, but the did finish it, even the pass quarter was partially wet sanded and looked like it was hand waxed after the wet sand, the car really in a nutshell looked like dog :q:q:q:q. the paint was in horrible condition, this absolutely has to be done, even if i have to pay for it, its a whole hell of a lot cheaper than painting it.

Looking awesome Jamie! The one pic, where you can't tell if it's a gen 1 or 2, looks JUST like mine did at one time. Have a soft spot for my car right now after seeing that.

Curious, did they add any clear coat at all? My roof went to crap after I had it 'professionally' buffed during a detail. It took about a year of course, in the texas sun. Clearcoat is a WEE bit thin

I know Billy from detailing sites he is a great guy and his details are top notch. Jamie that car is going to look amazing when he is all done

Looking good Jamie. I wish i could do that kind of work, but I would totally f it up! I'll stick with under the body panels to do my stuff!

he said it will be finished tomorrow i went with the "Platinum" package from what he has done already i had a slight chubby when i went to my shop after work to see it. i cant wait, now all i need is the dmv to send my vanity plate to finish the whole car off!!!

I'm waiting on the kid to chime in...

Let him take a crack at it when we are down there :)

it will be long done before you guys get here, you are already 5 months late. dont mention detailing anything to him, he needs to concentrate on getting your car finished and down here, or he is gonna refund you 1,400 bucks lmao!!

You must use a foam wheel? Wool burns edges so easy, I'm still scared to do it without tape. I'd use foam if the results were the same.

Wool is rarely needed for paint correction, unless your car is completely brush marked. Using the correct steps with foam can net you the same results.

Meguiars "soft buff" pads (red/yellow/tan) on a Dewalt 849 is my weapon of choice.

I'm just amazed you are paying someone to detail your Mark when you talk up your buffing ability all the time... silly Jamie...

Sorry I'm not feeling the blue pinstripes, even though they closely follow the lines of the body..they just look out of place on a black car IMHO

*LMAO*

Still have yet to figure if you are a smart ass or a dumb ass. :p

brandon i can buff the piss out of a car painted by me, but this car was the worst finish of any car i ever owned, i didnt feel comfortable trying it myself, one, i dont have the time, 2 i dont have all the equipment to try and correct a paint job in this condition. he has to use wool on my car, just wait till he sends me the pics he is taking with his camera so i can show you guys this thing was :q:q:q:qed royally. i know one thing i am investing in now though and thats an electric D.A all i have is a rotary and after watching him i have to have a D.A!
i'm paying because he is a pro, i am not, and i want this thing to look like its looking, i wouldnt even put the car in a local cruise night the way it looked.

a pro?? brandon not to piss in your cheerios, but have you buffed a $450,000 phantom yet? i am not dissing you, but what i am saying is this dude is worth me paying, trust me, the stuff he details, my car is like a ford escort to what he usually does!!
i wouldnt have even washed this car if it was me lol

You must not get what the :D means...

That being said I would have no problem doing a $450k car... I know wtf I'm doing...
