I have been searching high and low here in Ontario for a good Gen II and all I have found so far has been crap. Went and saw a 97 pearl white yesterday, 180K miles on this thing both quarters dinged, spring conversion and the grey interior completely trashed. The guy was asking $2500.00 because he has spent 4K on it in the last little while. The rear neon has even been swaped with a base chrome unit and it is full of mold.

Anyway to get to it I have found a 1998 Silver Frost with grey interior about 95K miles on it. Texas car has been in Ontario since 2006 never winter driven, has been kept out of storage to sell this year. Guy says restored by one of the premier places up here as well just waiting on detail as to what has been done, he is going to email copies of all the reciepts to me. Has spent 7K on it in last year, asking $6500.00. Here are some pics.

Shes a beauty! Man Marks go for allot up there! Back in the day $6500 Canadian was what?... $200 American? :D

I keed I keed!

Don't listen to this knuckle head above me :D but anyway, besides it sitting up like a 4X4, it's a pretty car. I'm liking the headlights. Something looks different about them but I can't figure it out.

Still kinda high priced being close to 100K but if it's been well taken care of and garaged during all winters besides this one to sell, it may be a good buy for you.

Laser yeah the conversion is about right...

Nolimit, I agree it is a pretty car and it has not been salted at all. Just the pictures alone seem to tell that. You can see when it snowed the car covered that section of the driveway so it is really just cold rain...HAHA!!
It is about 1.5 hours away from me so I am going on the weekend to get a real good look at her and he will be moving it into storage for me if I buy it. I will get some more pics of her if I do buy.
As I said before all the other stuff I have looked at are worth $400.00 as parts cars and these guys think they are worth a fortune. The one I looked at yesterday was so sad, drivers seat held up by a box jammed in there and all the plastic trim broken, smoker interior moon roof not working burnt HIDs the list goes on and asking $2500. You guys would have fell over laughing.

I will be doing that first thing as I agree, way too high. As for the headlights, if you look at the picture it is a reflection of the of the lights from the angle the shot was taken.

What's this 'premier' place up here that restored it??? I'd find that out and all they did to it for sure.
It does look pretty clean though. Whats that over the grill?...

Icarus, they call it a premier place and there are a lot of people that would agree but I really do not. I have been doing restos with friends for years. Our body and paint guy has been at it for almost 50 years himself and has done work for the Craven A Collection and the shop now produces show winners monthly for customers all over North America. The shop that did work on this car Is the Guild. Icarus, you might have heard of them. Seeing as this is a Texas car and garaged here in Canada over winters there really should not have been much to restore. As I said I will be getting the reciepts to see what has been done.
Icarus, have you had any luck finding something yet? Over the grill, looks like some type of pin stripe that will be going. Hope I can wet sand and buff it out.

Thats up by Simcoe right? I've heard of them if it's the same place but never been there. I used to work around the south end of the lake for Rogers and saw lots of shops, but didnt always get in to see them. It sounds like you know a heck of alot better than the majority of people including me what to look for on the car, lol... ;)
I've not been looking for anything myself as I ended up making mine my daily driver now. I really didn't want to drive it in the winter, but things are tight as I've not been working since Sept due to some surgery etc. I've got some of the performance parts up for sale if your interested or know of anyone that is, and a brand new Covercraft cover I'll sell pretty cheap too...
From your info and those pictures, the silver one really looks like a good car to check out, and if you can maybe talk them down in the price a bit you'll have a great deal (I know how hard it is to find good cars up here, I spent two years looking for mine, got screwed on the first one I bought, and ended up with a fairly nice one now! I drove 3hrs each way from here looking at them!)
:)
