Just got the Sniper kit today and just did a quick and easy tune with just setting it up for 93 octane and firming up the shifts. Now the antitheft light blinks rapidly while the car is on, but it doesn't seem to be affecting anything negatively... shifts great now... any thoughts?

Actually I though the anti-theft was more passive in that is a sub-system that does not directly work with the PCM but disables start when needed. But you have PATS whereas my 96 ODB II does not so I bet its very different.

Well if thats all you found I would head over to those forums and check it out. Or maybe ask Geno, he may know.

I have same problem along with others I wont mention. THe anti theft from what sniper told me is that lincoln is backwards to the mercury and ford brothers in the pcm. THey dont have enough customers with lincolns to actually go in the software and fix it. They dont care. It will not effect anything. After 10-15 minutes it will go off. ITS GREAT

Sorry your having problems Alan. You run in to anything else with the tuner? I have been contemplating getting one but want to know for sure what to get. I am changing the intake soon, put in the gears, JMOD, and exhaust since my last tune (SCT chip). I need something to tune with but wanted some advice from people like you first.

No other problems with the tuner, but I haven't really utilized it yet. I'll get back with ya when I have a little more time to sort it out.

LOL @ Kid... You love pushing that huh? You should see if you can become a dealer LOL!

I just call them as I see them.... my car is tuned and the alarm system functions just as it should... sorry that I'm so honest!

just take the bulb out thats what I did to mine was also flashing the anti theft light it was pissing off,,, it does not affect anything

Lol.... you should become a mechanic and open a repair shop... anyone who comes in with a CEL you can just pull the bulb and send it on it's way....

I guess I like doing things the right way....

I have a 96 mark, and installed the Sniper and like it EXCEPT, for some reason, it will not turn on the radiator fans like it says it will...you are supposed to be able to turn on the low speed fan at a setting as low as 165 degrees and the high speed fan can cut on as low as 185-it does not work at all, and goes on at the OEM setting-212 degrees. when the AC is not on, too high IMO.

I did call Sniper and was told to send one of the files I created, and the original file, and Pat would check it out-that was over a week ago, so I don't know what's going on. Spoke with Gino and he made suggestions like a 160 thermostat (got it, just waiting to do it later, not looking forward to that 'bath'), and other possibilities, so I' going to wait it out and see what happens-as for the thing about it being a Lincoln and Sniper not giving a crap, that blows-should be an issue for anyone who was in the group buy, and for anyone who is thinking of one of these.

Otherwise, the ability to have multiple files for all kinds of preferences, and the ease of reflashing the ECU anywhere is really nice, and fun too-I would not suggest the 'race 'setting for shifts, it feels like the u-joints are going to grenade, especially in lower gears, but 'firm' setting and the 93 octane setting and minor other tweaks really bring out the animal in the 4.6, it really feels a lot quicker.
