six speed trany?

i was reading a thread and saw some where that someone said to put a six speed manual in there mark. i think it was in ultamitSVT's thread. so i did a search and didnt come up with too much. only found 5 speeds.

Is there a 6 speed that will fit in the mk viii? im looking for an auto but will deal with a manual for a while..

the 5 speed will be sufficient... but in my opinion I would buy one already done...every now and then you find one up for sale...from what I understand our cars become animals with the swap...be cheaper to do a j-mod, stall, and gears. That would cost approximately 1000-1500 versus ??? on a manual swap.

3200 works well ...I am speaking from experience...Don is running a 3800.

I posted a video of my car launching from a stop light...you will notice the speedo starts moving once the rpm's hit 3K...if you time the speedo from there I am running 0-60 in the mid fives.

i would stick a 3000 stall.. thats right about where you get some good power. IMO

but i think that a 6 speed would turn a mark into an ANIMAL!

the only thing with a stall is that you only get a quick lanch from a stop.

go for it...if you have the money and the time. if lincoln was smart they would offered these cars with a manual out of the box...

Trust me you better not even think about it then....

I started the 5spd swap with a better start than anyone ever has and it has still cost me almost double so if money is even a question I would pass.

Then I don't think a 6 speed is in your future bro!!!

here is a six speed swap thread. http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/showthread.php?t=59647 the tremec 6060 out of a gt500 will bolt up but is expensive as $hit. the best bet for us $ challenged peepshs is the tremec 3650 out of an s197 mustang. there fairly cheap and widely available. pm me if you want some more info on the swap.
