Red light cameras

Redlight cameras are stupid as F*ck and I fully support people using lasers to wreck them, paintballing them and dragging them down. They're just a revenue maker and most are owned by priv companies who want your money more than making us safer. Also what do you do when your heading up to the light with some guy tailgating you? Are you supposed to slam the brakes and let him wreck the back of your car? Many times it's better to gun it and make the light than to stomp the brakes and end up stopping halfway through the crosswalk. Also where I live a lot of the lights are poorly synched and if you miss one you'll be delayed like 3-5 minutes by missing the others. Much better to speed a bit and make that first light. Luckily we don't have many redlight cams that I know of.

Anyway this is America and we don't need it to end up like the UK with cameras watching every move we make everywhere we go.
 
The city of Albuquerque has had these cameras run by the private company Redflex for a few years. They determined that they reduce cross traffic collisions and increase rear end collisions, for a net decrease in serious injuries. The state wasn't getting a piece of the pie, and told the city to GTFO state and federal roads a couple years ago.

Recently, however, somebody had the bright idea of making the yellow lights stay yellow for longer to improve safety and reduce the number of red light incursions. And now, the cameras are losing the city a bunch of money, because of the longer yellows.

Oh, and I don't know :q:q:q:q about Michigan.

Revenue generators are the only reason for these.Safety never crossed their minds.Its just bigger gubmint and they know so much better than the citizens dont they.
 
remember shooting out lights as a kid with your pellet gun...cameras can be shot too
 
Well i think they are good. They may not have had safety in mind. However now it gives a ticket to the douchewad who is texting his boyfriend what he is wearing tonight for there date at the la'mexicana el restaurante.
 
They are total bull$hit in every way! We PAY cops to do THEIR JOB not some PRIVATE company that only gives a percentage to the township which YOU will NEVER see anyway!! Bunch of crappppp!! Thats why the ones here on Gloucester TWP. on Blackwood Clamenton Road have been vandalizes so many times! Take them all down!! It looks very ominous and bizzarre too. There so beyond rediculous too as far as stop and wait time. You move or turn on red after NOT sitting for a full 3 seconds BAM you got a ticket.

My Buddy Ray put FUKYOU on cardboard and put it over his plate and went through all 4 corners of that intersection!! LMAO!!
 
I agree OneBadMark but you forgot a famous Michigan native in your post unless your buddy Ray is from Michigan.
 
Can't remember the state, but there were some high school kids playing pranks with red light cameras. They would print off a License plate template (they are readily available online), then put the plate number of a teacher they didn't like. They would tape the template over the regular plate, and run a red light.

The teacher would get the notice of ticket, along with the pic. Even though the teacher could prove they weren't the offending party, they still had to take a day off of work and go to court for it.
