Recall letter in mail yesterday

i got a letter in the mail yesterday from ford and it says my car has not had recal 05s28 done yet for the speed control system that malfunctions and causes a fire even if the car is off. has anyone had this done ??
YES FIRE BAD!!!!!!!!!!!
what is this sensor for?
its the cruise control deactivation switch. it can catch fire if you never use the cruise, so dont start with that, hell it can catch fire with the car off!!
ive got mines sitting on my night table......should i do it?
read above
This might be a dumb question but I took the 94 and the 95 in for the cruise recall. Earlier this week I get three letters, one for the 93, 94 and 95 saying that the recall hadn't been done. If this is a different recall, shouldn't they have had that in the system showing that it hasn't been done?

I'm confused because I have never been given a letter for any brake sensor since 2005 when I bought the 94 and when those letters all came in, I threw them away because I figured they were all for the cruise control recall.

93 was totaled
94 burned up anyway
95 is fine, so does it need to go for this too?
id call and have them run your vin, the recall could be updated again.... the first batch of the recall harness were fused on the wrong side, go texas instruments!! so they re released the recall with a revised harness with 2 fuses on it, so they could of changed something again. if the switch is leaking you get a new style switch and a adapter harness to make it work.
i went to the ford dealership yesterday to have this done... three hours later they came back saying they couldn't do it and i had to take it to the Lincoln dealership. They said it was a "special" lincoln. First they said they had to wait for the catalytic convertor to cool down before they could do it, then they said they would have to remove the master cylinder to do it. Bunch of :q:q:q:qing retards working at the dealership.

So 3 hours later and they still couldn't do it. Stay away from Ford of Ocala stealership [/rant]
points down
I've heard it's a bit harder to get at on a 93

I dropped off my 98 came back in an hour and it was done
they have to lift the car as its on the fire wall under the brake booster, shouldnt have to remove anything tho. i reccomend if you have a 93 you tell them where it is
OH chit I thought it was just for GenI's, Gen II's also need the recall? UUGGGHHH I don't trust ANY service dealer with my car. And when they pop the hood, I don't know what they will say. Is there anyway I can do it myself?
gen 2 is in the pass ft wheel well right in front of the tire just hover i did mine without picking it up
Wish I hadn't disconnected mine now. Heap needs to burn.
slaps the brit
Damn, I just moved recently and lost my recall letter somewhere..........Can i just bring the mark in and they Run the VIN to see if its been done or does it not work like that?? Damn I hate dealerships, feels like im getting hustled everytime i drive past one......
yes they can by the vin
Yes, they can tell from the VIN if it's been done.

I'm still trying to figure out if my '94 was done correctly or not. They installed a harness up near the master cylinder, but nothing down by the switch in the tirewell.

if its by the master cylinder take it back and tell them the switch is in front of the rt ft wheel

Is this the same recall that came out last year sometime? If it is thank God mine is done but it took them all day. I had to leave my car to let it cool off and as part of the recall there was something to do with the brake system that had to be done also. Just beware I got back in my car to drive home and had no peddle what so ever when I stepped on the brake. But they took care of it. So if anyone here in the Phoenix area wants a good dealership to go to try Horne Ford in Apache Junction.

The cruise control deactivation switch recall started in 2005, just got expanded to include more and more FoMoCo junk. First part of recall was switch disconnection and second part of recall was installation of a fused harness. (which, btw, got recalled due to being fused on the wrong side - LMAO)

first was unplug all, leaking or not
then was faulty harness install/replace switch
then the revised jumper harness
then it was add this and add that (last i knew, im on vacation :))

The told me thats where it was even though I questioned it. I even asked if I could get the harness + switch and do it myself but they wouldn't go for it :(

YES FIRE BAD!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, fire is bad.

Anyway, all I have left is the 95 and it was just done a few months ago. I'm sure nothing new has came out since then. They may just be doing it to make sure they cover their ass. The 94 burned anyway and the 93 is totaled. I should be in the clear, hopefully.

go back and demand the manager to print out the instructions and show you. it clearly says 93 under car 94-98 pass ft wheel well. print up a disclaimer that says since the recall was improperly done and they demand its correct that they are fully liable if and when the car catches fire and have the manager sign it. that should make them change tunes

recivied a letter for the 94m5 have to find out if Michael has time to take it in. don't know if the 95's have been done are not.

I'm confused, this should be a super easy thing to figure out but it's got me this time.
The dealer is insisting the harness they attached to the brake booster is the right place for it but wouldn't print anything out. Chicken, you keep saying it's the switch in the fender, and I see from others posts even pics of it being done there, so why does the dealer insist they're right? I think I need to talk to a different dealer maybe...
weird
?

I keep reading about this and I took my 98 in as well but they said there were no recalls at all on this car . I was even told through the forum here that the recalls are different here in Canada but still yet your car has a recall? What gives on that? Did we just get confused with the cruise and the column recalls?

Anyway, it seems that the cruise recall is valid in Canada so I will take it in to another dealership and get it checked again.
