I have done a search and came out with two different answers so I am just trying to confirm the info.

Is the cooling fan the same from 93 to 98? All listings I have found say they are different but Gman states in a thread that he put one from a 94 into his 98 CE. Am I reading that correct and should I just buy the one from a 95 that I have found?

My car is down and I cannot find one around me for a 98 and mine seized the other day.

Thanks for any replies guys.

Well I am in Canada so no Orieleys here. Napa say dealer item only as well as any of the other auto parts stores I have tried.

There are 3 different MKVIII cooling fan assy part numbers. The only difference between them is the fan blade. 93-96 are the same. 97 has a decreased fan blade pitch. In 98, ford decreased the fan blade pitch even more. Rpms for 93-96 are 1100 low and 1800 high. 97 and 98 are 1800 low and 2200 high.

Sounds like earlier fans are the ones to have then.

I have installed second gen fans in first gens and vice cersa. They all work the same as far as opperation and installing. I like the idea of moving more air. Wonder why they toned them down? Second gen must be able to move more air through its nose.

Guys, thank you so much for the info as it has made the decision even easier. 1995 Mark fan 60 bucks!!

I think I will get a spare on the next pay as well.

it might be a noise thing as well. the newer fans are probably quieter.
