The beast definitely pulls harder at 4500 rpms and higher.

Holy modified engine Batman! I see every bolt on for the 4.6 DOHC made to man. The polished intake looks awesome, did you guys cut the runners at all or just slight port?

They don't look cut judging by the assembled intake tube position. That would be a real pain to do with this intake, but I suppose anything is possible.

The whole intake air path is now smooth as silk.

Yes, ported in the sense that the runner entrances were radiused and the runners themselves were polished as well as the plenum. I bought it used as-is. It has all I would've done had I done it myself. Had the runners been shortened and the plenum volume increased, it would be my dream intake for the Mark VIII.

That is a pic of one in progress. I'm not even sure it's the same one. But suffice to say the inside of the runners and plenum are as polished smooth as the finished outside appearance.

I'm not knocking the Cobra intake at all... I just believe the Gen1 intakes can be made with equal or better potential than the Cobra intake. When it comes to boost - all bets are off, better intake choices are available, including the Cobra intake.

High RPM pull? Oh yeah, we've got that. :D

I think about $300 IIRC. The person who was doing the work on one for me disappeared from the face of the earth... with my money and intake. :(

I have one ported and polished already. IMRCS are gasket matched as well. You can HAVE the intake and IMRC plates just pay shipping. You will have to have the imrc shaft holes welded shut, as I did'nt have time to do it.

Not to bring up an older thread, but what fuel hose did you use on the fuel rails? Was wondering the size and brand. Thanks

I asked our purchasing guy from work to find it and he found it easily at out hose supplier. It is apparently quite common and they were familiar with what we were looking for. It was about 2 bucks per foot and I got like 3 feet to be safe. It was dropped off the same day I asked.

Look in the phone book for industrial hose suppliers. AeroQuip is a very common hose manufacturer and it will be stocked by most.

If that is -6AN, I probably have some extra laying around that you can have for the price of sticking it in an envelope. I'll try to remember to look tonight.
