Post your tint pics Marks

The purple comment was dumb as hell in that thread. Anything that is ammonia free will work. Sprayway is what I use.

That is correct, ammonia is what discolors the tint after a long period of time. But most glass cleaners do not use it anymore and states so on the front of the bottle. I personally do not use anything other than Invisible Glass glass cleaner. It is safe and effective with tinted windows, it is a aerosol spray can.

I though also the quality of the film affected it?

For example the stuff sold at walmart vs madico onyx which is what i have on my vehicle.

^ Is that the stuff made by Stoner? Yellow cap IIRC.

Yes Stoner is the manufacturer. I also use Trouble Free glass cleaner when I can not get Invisible Glass.

Actually you can buy tint from Wal-Mart and apply it yourself and have a quality job that will last for years. The key to a quality job is prep, making sure you have a clean debris free glass to work with. Using the outside of the glass to trace out the pattern, and the ability to use your patience to apply the film and use heat to form the tint to the contour of the glass. And making sure you pull up the door inside window seals to allow you to use excess tint to go beyond the window weal by at least 2"'s so that you never experience tint roll-up when you lower your window.

The tint shops use mostly 3M and a couple of other brands, usually brand is dependent on the type of tint you want, mirror, dual shade, and color, because of cost. But I have done tint jobs with Wally World tint and had it last for yrs and did not fade nor peel due to the fact I do not use ammonias on my windows.
