Poor Mark:(

ok i got the broken header panel out today and found that my headlights are cracked:(, anyone got a good set of halogens?? or did someone(on the forums here) buy the set diesel dan sold and are keeping them for spares and are willing to part with them?? the bumper cover was able to be saved:D but now im on the search for the actual steel bumper as mine is a bit twisted.

So just checking, neither your insurance nor the person at fault's insurance is going to pay for fixing your car? I'm sorry. I'm just having trouble wrapping my brain around that. Why even have insurance if it's not doing you any good? I'm still just completely baffled by this whole situation.:confused:

The most I'm going to get is 500$ due to Michigan State, and and I have everything I need parts wise except headlights

This whole no fault insurance really makes no sense to me, if I were you id be asking lots of questions and finding out why the f*ck they aren't paying out for an accident that you were not at fault for..this is why its a good idea to spend the extra couple bucks each month or 6 months to get good insurance from a well known company..this would piss me off, I wouldn't just say oh well and let it go, but that's just me.

That's what I'm talking about. I'd be having a $h!t fit if this happened to me. The whole thing smells fishy to me. My insurance is through Nationwide and I have full coverage on the Mark and the Cobra with liability and comp only on the Exploder. It ain't cheap, but I know that my car will be fixed if I were in an accident like this one where the other driver was at fault. My insurance agent never even mentioned any such thing as "no fault" insurance. I can't even believe such a thing exists. How is it possible to pay for auto insurance that won't provide insurance for your car. It shouldn't even be legal. You're paying them money and they are not providing any service in return for your payment. You are flushing money down the toilet. I hate to put it this way Epwillis, but your insurance company saw you coming and they're laughing all the way to the bank;)

No fault doesn't exist in all states so I may be that's why it seems fishy to you

That is entirely possible. Given that I've never heard of such a thing it would seem it doesn't exist in NC. But I still have to ask why would you opt for that type of insurance knowing that it wouldn't pay out to fix your car if you were in an accident?

True. Seems to be an "Up North" thing but seriously, I wouldn't pay for it. As much as I drive mine, I'd just drive without insurance. Drive right and what are the chances of being pulled over? Even if, all you have to do is go get the useless insurance and the ticket will be dismissed. That's how it works down here. I have liability with State Farm but that's just in case I burn the garage down again lol. I have renters insurance with them too so, it's like a bundle deal and really my car insurance is free except for $14 every 6 months. The renters insurance is about $100 & something a year.

In Canada in BC the lowest possible insurance is PL & PD which everyone who drives must have. It is no fault insurance in that no litigation is generally used to determine fault. In any accident the police will usually charge someone with the fault and that will be what determines who is to blame.

It seems to me there should be money from the guy who hit you, or rather his insurance company. I would make a claim to them if nothing else works.

I believe that PLPD is the sane here in Michigan, claim was made a half hour after the accident the most I'm going to get is 500$ due to Michigan State law.

got my new lights today!:D

Depends if the water spots are through the chrome or just dirt on the surface, take a garden hose and a small amount of car wash soap and fill up the whole light and just shake it around..don't try wiping the chrome with anything as it is seriously brittle and can be scratched or worn off easily, just rinse it out and shake the water out as best as you can and take an air hose to get the rest out..and take that tint off, the clearer the lenses the better you'll be able to see at night.

In Michigan no fault extends to vehicle damage, the only state that does so. That is how my 96 was destroyed, a drunk with no DL pulled out in front of me while I was in Michigan. Insurance does not even pay for injuries and you can not sue except in very special circumstances. In Michigan you pay into a catastrophic claims fund run by the state for injuries. The $500 is called a mini tort.

Thanks for the tip i will try it, i plan on taking tint off eventually as it is chipped in a few spots on the edges

Epwillis...just curious..did you ever ask the old man who hit you for any compensation for the accident, since both of you have that useless insurance and since HE was at fault? or did he try and deny he was at fault..most old people i know have morals and would do the right thing in most circumstances, maybe if you talk to him and tell him the situation you are in and see if maybe he will cut you a check for a few bucks to try and help you out since it sounds like you are on your own for covering the cost of repairs..

No it wasn't worth it, he was 82 and could barely hear or walk and he did try to deny he was at fault to the cop but the cop told him that i had the right of way. I now have all the parts i need and in the process of getting every thing on and painted. Would have been more of a hassle to try and get money out of him.

Anyone know the thread size of the screws that hold the bulbs in on the LSC housings???

I found some 6/32x1/2 and they were a tad to big, any ideas??
