2.5 years ago I had my car painted. Today I noticed its starting to peal off on the hood. Looks like I'm gonna have to make a trip to the body shop and put my foot in someones ass.

That sucks! Yea, I would be making a trip back to that place, and inquiring as to what the hell is going on....

Yes it was a MAACO job, but it was thier top of the line, totally stripped, primer, base coat, clear coat. At least thats what I paid $2000+ for. Either way, it should last more than 2 1/2 years for that much money.

Yea, in that case, I would have to agree. I know they don't have the best reputation, but if you went for the top tier job, then it shouldn't be peeling at 2.5 years.

i bet your sol. its maaco i dont care how much you pay its still a maaco job. and 2000 for what you said they did is way to cheap for it to have been done properly. hell i wont even get out of bed to do a re spray on a somewhat nice paintjob for less than 3000. and thats not stripping to bare metal that sanded flat and painted and if there is body damage the price goes up.

My paint job is about 3 years old, from a local shop.
The plastic hood is looking like crap now. They even primed it for plastic, I guess they don't last long.
The shop will probably redo it for free or low cost, but they take forever.

Maaco = crap materials.

They can usually lay paint down pretty well (you have no choice but to get good when you spray 5 cars a day) but subpar products will only last so long.

I got a macco job paid $2500 or so 5 year warranty they did a great job
Except they didn't pull the door moldings off they said it wouldnt delaminate.
No such luck when I went back for warranty work the shop changes hands (still macco)
He tried to not cover the repairs so I raised he'll with corporate and it got fixed.
This is the short version of the story but it isn't maccos fault its the owner of the shop.
