well after reading all this stuff about PCM codes i desided to look up my PCM code. i saw DZA1 i have a 95 mk Viii and i wanted to know if that was good or not so good as far as PCM's go

See that striped bar at the top of your screen? The search tab is in them middle of it. As far as the PCM, uhhhhh.....do a search:D But wait, there's more. In the forum you can look at the red border on the upper right and just search the forum. Multiple ways to search, all on the same screen:D

to answer your question, its under the steering wheel, right above the brake pedal. remove the trim panel under the steering wheel and you should be able to see it with no problem.

ah, thanks both of you. but i went down and opened up the sevice manual and found out where it was. (forgot i had the book)

but now my question is how good is my PCM

Since you have a OBD-I, you would need a EEC IV SCT chip. Used to be on eBay a while back for around $180 but hard to find for that price now. Then you have to find someone with the burner from SCT with the software and know how to put that catch code program on that particular chip. They would need your PCM also. There is no "tuner" for a 93-95 mark 8 EEC iv PCM.

If you bought it all, you would be looking at around $600 just to have 800 rpm higher rev limit and 15 psi higher shift pressure, higher timing. How much does one charge for burning a chip, IDK....

if you get a chip, get one from blue oval chips. lonnie is a master there. i have my chip from him and the car drives better than it did stock.
