I would leave it, Looks good the way it flows nicely with the rest of the interior pieces, just MO.

If you want a black center stack you better get out the painters tape and mask off all those buttons.

Bro you need gas haha.. Me too!
Honestly I like it. I once painted the trim around the head unit. It was an aftermarket single din in a chevy malibu.. I just took all the pieces out and spray painted black, a few coats then a few clear coats. It actually came out pretty nice and shiny black. I dunno if I would do that to my LS though.. I think the two tone looks good.

If your good with a knife you could always try vinyl. It wouldn't be to tough at all just tedious work cutting out all the buttons. But you could easily wrap that and you'd have endless possibilities!

Okie dokei thanks , fellas. Guess I'll leave it alone... >:0). Yes Im very mechanically inclined.

I did this project, but it was the other way around and I had the hardest time taking off the buttons on the AC control.. Paint it glossy black!

Oh no kidding. At first look it seems like the buttons stay on the dash and that bezel simply goes over everything. So you mean when u pull the bezel the buttons come with it as one unit?

Hmmmm wtf that seems odd

Oh another question,,, are the transmissions sealed on these cars? 2003 V8 model. If so I guess you just drop the pan to change the fluid?

There is a procedure for changing the tranny fluid; it may be in the tech articles (look at the top of the forum), or it may be in a post around here somewhere. It involves the tranny cooler return line--basically, you disconnect the return line, run the engine, and feed new fluid into the transmission side of the return line while the old fluid gets pumped out the cooler side of the return line. The transmission provides all of the pressure to make it work, you just make sure it doesn't run out of clean fluid.

Edit: Look here: http://deneau.info/ls/
It says it's for an '06 LS, but the transmission drain/fill instructions should work for all years of the LS.
