I used something like this but what I have is about 1ft. long and I can put the socket needed to remove the IAC. Mine doesn't have a straight handle on it, it has a T handle and works like a ratchet because it has a movable switch on the side. I don't know who makes it because I don't think they even make it anymore but Sears would have something like it and maybe in different lengths.
So, imagine this thing with a T type handle instead of the straight handle with a slide switch on the side and that skinny bendable part being over a foot long with the ability to accept 1/4" sockets. All I have to do is break the bolts loose and then finish the rest up with the other thing. I also got another bolt to match the shorter bolt and used that because it doesn't need that long bolt in there. Both short lengths reach and hold just fine.
The IAC is annoying to mess with but with the bendable deal, I can knock one out now in 15 minutes if the cowl and hood is out of the way. That's R&R
