2 cans of plasti dip in black. I can't wait to get them, i'm going to spray the chrome trim on the bumpers and moldings, and the faded black trim around the doors. I might black out all the chrome, i haven't decided yet, ill see how i like it after i black out the chrome on the sides and bumpers. It's a hell of a lot cheaper to use this stuff then go to a body shop, and this is pretty fast and simple to do rather than sanding the chrome and all that other stuff. Anyone ever use plasti dip on their mark? I was hesitant on getting this because i thought it would come off with a car wash but after seeing videos of plasti dipped parts getting power washed i wasn't worried, and i read a lot of reviews that says it doesn't come off when you wash it.
 
I have used it in small places.
Why did you order it I just get it at the local hardware store.

I don't have my license yet and im way too busy with school and doing little jobs on the weekend to try and get to the store.

Will do, i can't wait to get the stuff. I'll take before & after pics and post them up here. Idk if im going to do my wheels or not, its a could be.
 
Things i wanna plasti-dip (black out)
Chrome on bumpers and moldings
Chrome grille, chrome strip above grille, chrome strip above tail lights and trunk lock cover.
Chrome around windows and side
The black piece on the door right next to the window (mines faded)-
The black rubber underneath the chrome that goes around the window (the small window)

If i do the rims do then it'll be murdered out and the best part of it all is, its cheap and i can peel it off if i want to haha.

UltimateSVT, do you think i should black out all the chrome like your 93? Everytime i see your 93 i keep thinking to myself, black it all out, do it lol. I think your 93 looks sick, i might just go ahead and black out all the chrome like yours and leave the rims chrome so there's something to offset the blacked out look

Lmao that looks dope. I watched this guy on youtube do his audi a4, he's got a company called dipyourcar.com -- that's where i ordered the plasti-dip from, he's got a lot of helpful videos on how to plasti-dip the car, badges, grilles, emblems, window chrome etc.
 
Oh and i forgot to add that im getting nightshades :) Will be blacking out my tail lights soon. Going to do it right, sand the lights a bit like they need to be. Spray 3 coats of nightshades, 3-4 coats of clear, use some meguiars ultimate compound when complete and bam. I can't wait, finally get to do some little cool things to make this car really to my liking. I love all the chrome and the vogues but my dad set it up like that for him, not its time to black some stuff out and next spring get 18x9 cobra R's.

Ah, how'd it work out for you? Yeah i kinda remember seeing pictures of 93s, 94's then looking at 95's and 96's and they looked different lol.
 
I'm glad you made a thread about ordering something. Perhaps i'll make a new thread explaining how to properly apply hemmroid cream from the new e-z squirt tube. I hear it can be tricky.

"ordered plasti-dip" could have been more acceptable in "what have you done to your Mark VIII today"

This adds no useful knowledge to the forum.

Post it up once you actually get it, and make a progress thread, or a "look what I did!" thread.

Dude..noo don't tint the tail lights..so many cars I've seen with spray tint on their tail lights looks like sh*t..either uneven or just dull..once its done you can't go back without ruining the finish on the lights. If you really want to see how it looks use vinyl to tint your tail lights, looks much better.

Not always the case. This guy does them right. I'm about to have my mustang tails done. my headlights came smoked from the factory. He doesn't have pricing for Mark VIII, but I don't see why he couldn't do them.

I guess next time i won't post until i have something accomplished..

I love the look of smoked tail lights, i have steps written out of exactly what i need to do, and how to do it. I'm practicing on a crappy broken tail light off of my dads van to see how it comes out and if i can do it right.
 
Just rename the thread to "Plasti dip gen 1 blah blah" if your still able too. Something along those lines to better reflect whats being discussed.
