A friend is looking at getting this car for his kid, I went to look at it.

The HID's are really dim, but he has a salvage inverter in the trunk for swapping out later today,

the interior is in great shape with all the cup holders, the DS door sometimes shows that its ajar, the fuel door release button is missing. but the interior is in pretty good shape. seat move and the DS seat heater work well

the head lights need reconditioned and of course needs a detail job.

no trans studder that I could tell and the bushing that I could see with the wheel off seemed to be fine (better than mine)

needs brakes (but I might be spoiled with my upgraded brakes) and a tune up.

air ride is good and the steering wheels doesn't grunt (I thought they all did)

so $4500 out the door fair?

Up here that would be a good price for a 2nd gen car in good shape. It's all about location, like real estate to an extent...

Any rust underneath?

Blend door?

Tilt/telescope wheel?

Button for the windshield wiper fluid?

Bought mine (same year model) for 1k less, everything worked on the way home, then the blend door broke.

Mine was 82k at the time.

Every once in a while I scour cars.com for these, and the prices are all over the place. There was a 98lsc right by me for 2.9k with a broken blend door and missing cupholders, sold inside a week at a dealer. That one had 116k on it.

I would sell mine for less and it has 84K on it:D I have fixed most of the issues and it has a black interior, octastars, new blend door and new transmission.

pictures can be deceiving. I looked at a car here locally for another member and the pictures made it look perfect, but when i looked at the car it was a turd. I wouldnt have given $1000. just be prepared to be disappointed

Well it seems that the lights dont work right on the craigslist lincoln. I was thinking of offering 3k without the lights working and maybe jamie can hook me up with what I need to get his car working .

jamie: what needs to be replaced on the GenII lights system I know the headlights and then the inverters I guess it would be switched and power going to them maybe a control box.

Damn I wish I could find my ford service DVD.

dim hid's are done hid's, the ballast wont make them brighter, a ballast works or it doesnt, and its obviously working if they are lit at all, when the hid's go dim that means the gas has leaked out of the capsule and the bulbs are junk.

give me a call, I left my number on your VM.

Buy some adapter rings from DLF (member here) and a 9006 bulb kit from ddmtuning.com or eBay.

Ok I get it now I didn't know the OEM HID's were unavailable and now everyone has to convert to a new HID setup and scrap the old setup completely. Well the dealer will have to do it since its in writing that the headlights would be fixed before the sale.

Hmmm I wonder how it passed state inspection with next to no lights?

You gotta watch out when buying cars from those small mom and pop used car places. The don't make money on cash sales. They make the most money on finance deals. I am pretty sure that they wont take your offer of $3500. I try to stay away from dealers, because they are so difficult to deal with. Keep in mind, you're probably going to have to put another $1000 into it to get it to our standards.

His son has $3k and mom and dad are going to match it, and he's always loved my car. I figured he'd grow out of it but after about 5 years hanging around my car he still loves it. he turns 16 in may, until then what ever mark they get will hang out at my house getting little tweaks.

All the local private cars i've seen have either been RAPED or garage queens and they both want a mint

alot of the local guys know this dealer he and his sons are old, but they're pretty trust worthy I know at least 10 people that have bought from 'the old man car lot on 94'

This car is for a 16 y.o he's lucky to have a good ride. I'm gonna put my old stereo in it with a changer and he's got about $300 - $500 in repairs and maintenance that were going to do together (him more than me) brake job tranny flush, body detail, etc

i have a find on a 93 with under 50,000 miles for 4,000 in PA trying to get pics now
