the thundermark/chicken whatever you want to call it, has a knock from the trans/bellhousing area when its cold. it also has a loud screeching noise when you launch it hard sounds to be center of car as i cant look under it as i drive off. here is a little break down so everyone is up to speed, 95 tbird with a 95 mark engine a 3600 stall converter (believe its from blue oval chips) a ford reman trans but that probably has 100k on it by now and maybe 30k with a jmod. i was thinkin something in the converter is going, but also wondering about the front pump, and i dont want to pull the trans twice. i priced out a new pump from ford and retail is $1100!! the converter i can justify because if i put it in and thats not the problem i can put one of them into the lincoln, already got gears and a drive shaft for that. basically just wondering if anyone has seen anything like this....

What flexplate are you using ? It sounds like the engine/trans alu separator plate is rubbing on the flexplate. I experienced this very sound once on a car that had an aftermarket flexplate. Worth looking into ....

Yep... been there before. It just took a little tweaking of the separator plate with a couple long pry bars to clearance it.

Not quite as bad as you pictured however!

no its a ford flywheel, and its been on since 06. i was thinking maybe its cracked but the noise goes away once the trans warms up. a answer has presented itself, im gonna buy a new converter and toss a different trans into the car
