Oil Filter Relocation anybody?

I put a piece of foil on the k-member to cover it and the ps lines there. Any drips off that unless I slip aren't to bad to clean up then. The relocation would make it easier if in the right place, and it would be good to be able to add an accumulator inline as well as the extra capacity you mentioned. I'd be a bit worried about leaks in the future though unless going all out on really good lines/fittings :)

Well I have used them before on my Mustangs. And they either had slip on lines with clamps or with threaded ends, and all I did was use thread tape on the theread ends. Never had an issue with leaking, but it sure does help with convenience. I also use the plastic runner to collect the oil as it comes out, but it is nicer to have the relocate kit. ;)

That looks clean, the Moroso 23681 is the adapter that goes to the block, what adapter did you use for the filter in the fender well. Like the extra caliper too :)

Did you mount and extra oil temp gauge inside?
 
I'm paranoid about leaks, lol... I put one of the last brand new Ford oil pans on my car and it leaked! It took a month to get another and it was the second last from what I recall ;) My luck stinks most of the time...

There is a difference between Ford dealer and FRPP though, and aftermarket in general if it is a respectable outlet that backs there products. Everything you buy these days will be a 50-50 chance to work or not, gotta agree on that one with ya.

I just use a perma-cool remote oil adapter. the filters are all different and cheap even the nice Mobile1's... And of course the best filter of them all

I have an oil cooler sitting in the box too lazy to install it. It has a NTP port for Oil temp. Its just another gauge I'll have to monitor and find a place to mount.

Oil temp
Boost
NO2 pressure
Intercooler temp
Oil Pressure
Fuel pressure

UUUGGHH sick of looking at all these gauges.

It's expensive new, and I'd never buy it for that much money. I bought mine from a member on corral.net who bought it and didn't use it. I don't remember the exact amount I paid, but it was somewhere around $100. It is a VERY nice kit. I recommend looking around on the mustang forums a little bit and see if you can find a deal like that...
 
I've got the trans-dapt kit in my garage. I put it on my 95 a couple of years ago but the hoses that come off of the adapter shoot straight out, which causes the hose to pinch, especially under pressure. So I uninstalled it & put some elbows on the adapter to route the hoses without bending them too sharply. Of course I never put it back on because life keeps happening. What i'd give for 2 or 3 days of free time. So if you want one half-price, or anyone else for that matter, let me know.

Any updates on this? those of you who were buying kits, what did you get and how did it go?

I'm looking into this, not only for moving the filter, but adding a cooler as well.
 
I didn't go with a kit. Instead I chose to use a Permacool adapter at the engine (p/n 1791), a Permacool single filter four-port mount (p/n 118), and -10AN lines to connect the two.

You can see the adapter in this pic. The AN fittings are wrapped in blue painters tape.

With the modified splash guards, changing the filter is a piece of cake.

That is correct. Verify that it has the correct size o-ring though. IIRC, you'll need a 2.5" o-ring at the engine.


Also, I just noticed that I accidentally swapped the part numbers around in my post above. PN 118 is the spin-on adapter. PN 1791 is the filter mount.
 
I went with the FRRP from the block to a Morroso Filter mount with stainless braded lines. Looks sexy and oil changes are super fast now, well the 2 that I've done on it lol

Edit:
Found a hit where it stated the Relocation Kits O-ring size range is 2 3/4" thru 3 3/4... so bigger than 2 1/2.
But, the Max outer diameter of the OEM filter is 2.8", and we all know that the O-ring seat on the engine is a bigger diameter than the oil filter O-ring. I wonder if I can get enough interface to make a seal?

Anyone have a Block laying around to measure?
