Official Progress Thread

i guess im just goin to bust my a$$ in hopes for a good result of repair than get mad or frustrated at the result and than prolly replace it lol

sorry i didn't get to make it out.....workin on my mark on sun....tranny fluid change and some other odds and ends....i didn't put that radio in yet, still have it sitting in my garage, for the green 94.

Well heres some more pics up till 10 min ago. Ive still got some touch up to do plus some peices to still be done youd prolly be able to tell in the pics.. but it looks sweeet (to me at least)
I got the cupholder fixed, i took it apart switched the spring around and did a lil fab up to get the arm to stay on the track. The part that allows it to shut properly. But any who here they are! And no that speaker wire in the doors is not staying like that...

(P.S.) Rich if you wanna come check her out if you could bring the radio that'd be great, just wanna make sure the facory amp is still good... no radio in it when i bought it.

So you painted the dash? And those door panels are actually black, right?

everything was grey except the door panels, but i did repaint the doorpanels to bring them up to new.... it really suck cause the camera brings out ALL the imperfections.... looks sooo much better in person.... but then again its not like those are the picks of the final product but just thus far. And that carpet jeeez, it took 2 hours of scrubbing and pressure washing to get it to where it looks now, not perfect but a dream compared to how it was. just imagine all the dirt grime and stains in a 93 with 140k. I also got some cheapy cheap insulation to add. It made a hell of a difference. I used all the stock insulation plus a layer on the floor a new layer on each door PLUS the stock insulation from all 4 door panels, tatling 3 layers a door. Some may say its pointless BUT the main reason is to help hold temperature, and have a queiter ride. And so far its quiter. Havent tried temp holding yet.

Looks good, i just swapped out my tan interior for black a year ago, the only things i dyed was the dash, console and drivers air bag. FYI i also painted my passanger side airbag to match the dash trim useing all the duplicolor paints you did and after 3-4 months it started to wrinkle up and just fell off in chunks. I removed the airbag, washed it in soapy water, used the prep wipe, hit it with the adheasion promoter followed up with light coats of paint till it covered and now its all flaked off. Just a heads up.

Don't forget to go over everything with a scotch brite pad to take away that paint sheen. Way to sheeny right now.

Also, since you had the whole car taken apart, it would've been a good idea to totally rewire the audio and run every speaker to an aftermarket amp.

Im not happy with the dash so im going to be looking for a factory black dash.

its a blast just so you know, alot of work...little over 2hrs to strip the dash out of parts car....i still have to finish the swap...but my garage is not heated, and i havent had a decent enough weekend to get it done yet..hopefully i get a couple 55degree days before winter on the weekend

Oh i know, i stripped out a wrecked 94 and got everything black out of it except the carpet and rear seat (they were missing). I was going to use the 94 dash but i wanted the 95 dash insted so i junked it, big mistake!!! id love to have it now, installing a radio in the 95 dash sucks, i cant find a fit kit!!! I even called crutchfield and they said there isnt a kit for it.

i was thinking of pulling the dash out of my 95 parts car cause i wanted to put a double din reciever in ...but decided i didnt want to paint, and wasnt to sure when i would have gotta a nice head unit...so i stuck with the 93-94 dash

I had to cut part of the dash out of my 95 to fit a single DIN headunit in it....unless youve got the cash for a headunit with a built in screen id just stick with the 93-94 dash.
