Hello all,
Just bought a 97 Silver LSC.... man this car feels like a rocket compared to my old Oldsmobile Aurora..... I have a few question because I haven't been able to find the reason why the speakers in the car all sound like headphone quality. No bass, treble, or anything.... just really flat..... any help would be appreciated.

Some more info, "converted to springs", 123k miles, needs a good cleaning, steering wheel shake at highway speeds, and a creaking wierd noise coming from left rear area....

Get ready for the backwards wheels comments! Lol. I'd guess wheel balance on the steering wheel shake and fritzed shock mounts on the left rear area. I guess mine was more like a really irritating rattle, but this is what I used to cure it:

I got the SensaTrac shocks and they work well for me since my car is sensor lowered. They kinda reduce the harshness and the rattle is gone! Not sure how or if this applies to spring converstions, but best of luck and welcome! :W
 
that shock info still applies on sprung cars Laurie. for sure.
mine creaks too at times... mine probable needs new bushings in the rear. 200k, 4.10s, and a shift kit have really done a number on the rear IRS. :lol:

the flat radio thing.
the factory radio/amp is not a terribly robust unit.
my radio died and i had to put a new one in. had no bass.
next my amp went out, no highs.
so i just said screw and went all aftermarket. couldn't be happier.

steering wheel shake, like she said, get those tires balanced. the Mark is very sensitive to out of round tires.
get them road force balanced, it is worth it.
 
Welcome to LVC. Gotta say silver frost in pics doesn't do justice for what it looks like in person. I think the most underrated color is toreador red. It looks amazing in person (probably the best) but in pics, it's just meh. Most overrated is Black IMO.

The stereo has some bass but the highs are crappy.
 
Aftermarket speakers and amp are the best route to go with when dealing with any audio issue on a Mark.

Now go get her Claned up an get some better pictures with her wheels on corectly.
 
Put some octis on it... Nice thick chrome with the silver... looks nice.... I had my wheels on backwords too lol... get them right... these guys could be brutal lol
 
never liked the octis on a silver car, thats what mine had originally and i couldn't wait to get anything else
 
Thinking about buying a complete system off of my friend since he never installed it into his mustang. Car is amazing learning new things about it daily.... one grip is it likes to crank alot before starting... I'm thinking weak battery or IAC... going to get a tune up hopefully this weekend.


Say Hi, to the Graphite Metallic 2004 Ram Hemi SLT RCSB... it has Magnaflow dual exhaust... but that will be replaced shortly.

Go to autozone or advance auto parts to get your alternator and battery tested. I don't the IAC plays a role in starting the car.
