Alright guys and gals. Looking for a little feedback here. I’m in need of some new tires. I have searched all over this site to see what everybody is/was running, as well as tire rack, and have read reviews on top of reviews. I am hoping for some self experience with the tires I have listed below. I am trying to stay within the price range of $500 to $800.
Things I am looking for (listed in order of preference):
Wet traction - I want a tire that won’t break loose under normal to light spirited driving conditions in wet weather conditions since rain is about all I ever see anymore.
Road noise quality – This is a luxury car, and I’d like to keep it quite while I’m driving
Dry traction – I can’t stand to hear tires howling at lower speeds while turning.
Tread life – If I’m going to pay good money, I want it to last for a while to come.
I’ve narrowed my very extensive list down to five tires (listed in order of my own preference):
Ultra High Performance – All season
Bridgestone Potenza Re960AS pole position – 40,000 mile Treadwear warranty
Pirelli PZero Nero M+S – 0 mile Treadwear warranty
Kumho ECSTA ASX – 30,000 mile Treadwear warranty
Yokohama ADVAN S.4. – 0 mile Treadwear warranty
Grand touring – All season
Goodyear Eagle ResponseEdge – 0 mile Treadwear warranty
Bridgestone and Kumho both have a decent tread life warranty, and I’ve bought tires in the past that didn’t meet the factory tread life expectations, thus resulting in me getting a new set of tires for little to no cost. How are your feelings on tread life warranties?
Please give me any feedback of your personal experience with any of these 5 tires. My decision is mostly based off of Tire Racks survey and reviews.
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=UHPAS&VT=null&sortValue=1. The Bridgestone’s are superior thus far. The one thing that concerns me is they’ve not been out as long as some of the other tires listed, therefore the “Total miles reported” is quite significantly lower. So it doesn’t help my judgment on long term quality.
