Alright guys and gals. Looking for a little feedback here. I’m in need of some new tires. I have searched all over this site to see what everybody is/was running, as well as tire rack, and have read reviews on top of reviews. I am hoping for some self experience with the tires I have listed below. I am trying to stay within the price range of $500 to $800.

Things I am looking for (listed in order of preference):
Wet traction - I want a tire that won’t break loose under normal to light spirited driving conditions in wet weather conditions since rain is about all I ever see anymore.
Road noise quality – This is a luxury car, and I’d like to keep it quite while I’m driving
Dry traction – I can’t stand to hear tires howling at lower speeds while turning.
Tread life – If I’m going to pay good money, I want it to last for a while to come.

I’ve narrowed my very extensive list down to five tires (listed in order of my own preference):

Ultra High Performance – All season
Bridgestone Potenza Re960AS pole position – 40,000 mile Treadwear warranty
Pirelli PZero Nero M+S – 0 mile Treadwear warranty
Kumho ECSTA ASX – 30,000 mile Treadwear warranty
Yokohama ADVAN S.4. – 0 mile Treadwear warranty

Grand touring – All season
Goodyear Eagle ResponseEdge – 0 mile Treadwear warranty

Bridgestone and Kumho both have a decent tread life warranty, and I’ve bought tires in the past that didn’t meet the factory tread life expectations, thus resulting in me getting a new set of tires for little to no cost. How are your feelings on tread life warranties?

Please give me any feedback of your personal experience with any of these 5 tires. My decision is mostly based off of Tire Racks survey and reviews.
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=UHPAS&VT=null&sortValue=1. The Bridgestone’s are superior thus far. The one thing that concerns me is they’ve not been out as long as some of the other tires listed, therefore the “Total miles reported” is quite significantly lower. So it doesn’t help my judgment on long term quality.

I sell wheels and tires on the side for extra money. I have never had a good experience with kumho. It seems they are like Wanlis, good tread mileage, but they tend to crack on the wall, very unsafe in my opinion. This has happened to a number of people I have got wheels for. Now everytime I order wheels I ask for Nitto, Nankang, Sumitomo, and Toyo. If the person wants to pay extra, then I ask for Pirelli and the good Toyo tires.

toyo proxes t1r. ultra high performance. considered all season but not recommended for snow. road and tire noise is silent. i've gone about 1000 plus miles on them. recommend

Recommend the Pirelli's, and I second the motion that Khumo's are Ju__.....well, not that good, from what my 9 year source at Discount says they get a VERY high percentage of them that come back.

I'm on my 4th (or is it 5th?) set of Nero's, I used them on a previous car for about 40k or so, and on my current SVT Focus. Not the highest mileage tire out there but then the highest mileage tire I would seriously challenge for performance......and wouldn't want. At the end of the day I'd trade performance for mileage in a heartbeat.....

However, not on your list, I'm using P-zero Rosso's on the LS currently, couldn't be happier with them. Quiet too, not an item high on my expectation list but still pleasantly surprised......

Yes I did. I found this on one of your previous post. Great information, but I see this survey as being based off of a summer performance tire, and I'm looking for an all season performance tire. I understand you can't have one witout sacrificing a little of the other, but this is my family car and want to make sure it's grounded while my wife and son are in it. Especially if she's driving. Plus I need tires to handle the occasional winter icing and dusting like my area got last night. With BTW my almost bald stock Michellin Pilots handled with profound confidence, much to my surprise.

Well guys I bit the bullet tonight and bought the Bridgestone's. Luckily the Bridgestone dealer that I went to matched Tire Racks price, saving me somewhere in the neighborhood of $250 if I've done my math correctly. I never even thought to ask if they price matched, but when I told him the price from Tire Rack including shipping, he was quick to say that they would match that price as long as I could print off something and show them proof. And they had them in stock. So I'm sporting a new set of treads.

Initial review:
They feel good. Very responsive on dry surfaces. Ride comfort is very positive so far, and they are quite. Can't wait to try them out in the rain.

I was only able to reach speeds between 40 and 50 MPH (due to traffic) on the 10 min. ride home, so I really can't say much more. There are few of us getting together for a ride on what's called "The Dragon's Tail" this weekend. 318 turns in 11 miles. Hopefully we'll have good weather and I'll be able to test these tires out pretty good. I'll post more thoughts on these tires once I get a few more miles on them and have a good feel of their limitations.

Feels good and safe to be on new tread, I bought a set of Nankang today. I personally like Nitto, but my friend that works at the distributor called me and told me that they had bought a lump sum and the wholesale price was low. I ended up paying 516.00 for all 4 245/35/20.

It does indeed. I had forgotten how easy this car was to steer. Talk about over-steering. I'm gonna have to spend the next couple of days get reacquainted with her.
