new bumper idea

i havent got that far ahead yet, my body skills aren't that great but i can finish drywall, so it will take time. im probobly going with the marauder because of cost. the cvx mach 1 is over 650$. there is also a chin or lip spoiler for it which makes a signifigant difference in appearance.ill have to see how well they line up together before i figure out how to get them together, but it will be below the trim line in the mark bumper. probobly epoxy together with maybe a rivet or 2. pm me and give me a few ideas! remember im in a wheelchair so ive got to try to make things easy! i thought the one you are working on was the 03 cobra style? thats what i didnt want the double fog lamp size. i actually liked the 98 cobra style until i saw the marauder with lip spoiler. it almost looks like a nascar front end. the mach 1 style is awesome, but looks too aggressive for the mark and mustang like.you can pm me some pics i wont show anybody. i am haggling with someone from the marauder thread board for the bumper.

The Mustang front end of the bumper is more "square" than a Marks, I've been trying to forge a 96 GT lower valance on my spare Gen1 LSC bumper, but there is a 2 inch gap between them, right where the front plate goes. I'm thinking fiberglassing that should cover it. I've never worked with fiberglass at all tho, is this your plan?

Stop trying to make marks like cobras and buy a cobra

Suck my balls

If it wasn't for people like us who like to work on cars Mr.Jackson, you wouldn't have one to drive!

I've been toying with this for a while, I think more of the Mark bumper needs to be cut to bring the lower valance upwards, then I can start laying out some fiberglass and see how smooth I can make it. It'll be a couple of months before I get to it, I've got other projects I've yet to complete, like a grill I've been messing with, and just a lot of work around my shop

And Bill, you KNOW that car didn't handle that well until we installed all that bracing...so give credit, where credit is due! It wasn't air bags that made it handle that way. Not to mention the larger sway bars, poly sway bushings and those wide tires.

Youd order the springs for a '96 Thunderbird

Those P/S photos are nice, my opinions...
The first pic is a No-Go, the lines are too harsh, wouldn't flow with a Marks body curves
The Maurader looks perfect on a Gen2
The 98 Cobra would look better on a Gen1 (can you P/S it)

you can't just put springs on a car and expect to handle either. you'll need the exact same work to back up your springs.
it's not springs that make a car handle either!

No kidding! I'm not saying it would, but I'm also not the one saying "I had air bags and it took corners at 90" without that bracing it handled like a mule with 3 broke legs

Kinda like a Taurus, with shot rear control arms -MUAH-

im not sure what the whole plan is going to be, the mach 1 cvx spoiler is nasty, but almost $700. and thats before i try anything on it. im leaning toward the marauder with a mach 1 chin spoiler kinda looks like this

im trying to go with a look thats not cobra, otherwise id use the 98.i dont really like the temple one (terminator style) it just looks too big for the body, and the double fog holes look like a chipmunk's mouth full of nuts from the side. plus i still need a mark bumper to work on without taking mine off and i need a cowl for the hood and was looking intoa couple other ideas as well like the 98 mouseholes on a3" cowl but you have to buy the whole hood vs a cowl for like $50-85.
as for your project i wouldn't cut the mark bumper anymore. typically you want the valance as low to the ground as possible, if anything if the radius' dont line up, notch the mustang one in the middle, but it looks ok from here.my goalis to have the front chin spoiler just over the ground, when i cut the bumper im going to try and match the trim lines. what did you use? resin to join them?

Sapper, slow your roll. My 97 had coils, Tokicos, cradle braces, IRS brace and a larger rear sway bar and the Saleens yet could not corner like the white Mark.
The differences between the two were the white car sat lower, had a large front sway bad and the firewall braces and better tires. Minimal changes.
Tires really have the most to do with how these cars handle IMHO. Also with air I had less body roll then with the springs.

boooo

I would think the application would be the same gen 1 or 2 I just found a site with new bumpercover for 365! You can't toich one for less than 500. Still looking for a used one cheaper and a gen 2 bumper to experiment with. When you buy abftermarket ground effects and kits with double stick tape it seems to workout. I'm just trying to guess the overall wiiddth. Anyways ill keep posts up. Gping to go install the new cams in motor today! I'm so close I can feel it. As. For nobody makes things for gen 1. I can't fbind anything for gen 2. All the body stuff, wings, cowl hoods, etc was all for gen 1. Besides all gen 1 are good for are farm equipment hauling sod and chickens!

Minimal changes!?!?! You've smoked yourself retarded

I never said I didn't appreciate people who work on cars. I want to be a ls to do what you guys do. But then again everyone has different taste and different ideas

yes, also the width.the lower valance you took off you just cut off the lower end? i wanted to go with more of like an overlap, like where the trim indent line goes across the mark bumper from there it kind of goes under the car i want to flatten or round off the front. i was wondering how much different the width of the mustang front is compared to the mark. i REALLY like the marauder front but cant find anything near price range and i need another mark front too. when you look at a nascar front or aerodynamic wise the nose has to wrap around and be lower to the ground. i found a mach 1 cvx cheap i was going to stay away from the mustang look but it does look cool.

I think I'm gonna snag Jacksons front bumper... He's bound to wreck that thing sooner or later

heres a closer comparison.im bored. drove car yesterday, first run overheat. putting in new radiator today. going to use the marauder bumper though. it just fits thecar better and with the chin spoiler it wil be nasty. i just cant find one less than 350.its new, but not one to be found anywhere in jyards here ill just have to wait.had a guy down to 200 with fog lights and someone said 250 after i was already on paypal.downer.snag jacksons bumper at night and leave him a note " taken in pursuit of the perfect bumper"the only thing is that weird indent in the middle of the 98 bumper dontlike it
