New Best

I've been talking to alot of the n/a b cobra guys, and they say that the stock ford knock sensors give false readings ALL the time.

With IMRC deletes a guy on another forum is running 32* all the way up to 4k, then 30* to 7k. His cobra runs 11.7s @ 115 so I think I could trust his judgement.

I was using his recommendation, but I could clearly hear a bit a knock after she shifted into second, so right now i'm using 30* 3k to to redline.

Really stoked about finding how much mph I gained.

He uses pump gas?

FWIW, I've raced my very mildly modified '98 Cobra for about 10 years and, not once, had an issue with the knock sensors.

93 octane pump...he also is running a short runner intake; stock longblock though. 13:1 AFR as well

sn95 cobra with IRS is neat in my book

Ya know I thought that was your car, I was there too last night. First run they kicked me off because of the spares in the front :). I guess it didnt matter because I ran my new personal best last night too without them. Air quality was perfect last night. Your car looked great when I seen it in the staging lanes. Congrats!

Yeah I didnt swap out the tires yet :).

Are they both aluminums? I just got my mitts on some aluminum mini spares I am going to run next year. The steelies I have up front now are only 3 lbs. lighter a piece with a skinnier tire from the stock aluminum full sized wheel with rubber. I can pick up each alumi with one finger.

yeap they are aluminum. They feel as light as my brothers bogarts lol.

Heck yeah dude! That is significant savings up front with less rolling weight. I'm currently running Firestone 215-60-16s on the steelies and will swap them over to the alumis for next year.

You'll cut another 1/10th when you paint the front bumper...:p

Congrats Doug!! I should run mine one time before it goes in for surgery. Whats the worst that could happen? Blow my slipping trans?

I know tell me about it. Car looks nasty right now. Cant wait to wet sand the rest of the car and get her into paint.
