need help with new car.

i just got a 94 grand marquis , its got 107,xxx miles and i thought it was in great shape. about a hour after i bought it it had a shudder when it shifted into 4th. but it doesn't always do it. i thought a flush would fix it but
on the way home i cut through a neighborhood doing about 25mph and when i went up a hill i heard a very loud grinding noise, and i could feel it in the floor. the car still drove fine while it happened. it did this 3 times before i got home ,only going uphill. i could punch it from a stop and it doesn't grind. any help would be great.

Other than a different body, suspension, engine, interior etc. it is basically the same car:lol:

Flush the trans with mercon 5, sounds like the typical trans shudder issue. Atleast he owns a M8 as well, he's just staying in our circle of knowledge.
