need help to shut up some lincoln haters!

I just have a slow Gen2. Too bad I didn't have a Gen1 because I'd be running 12s NA right along driller and his 5.3!

true dat!! :lol::D

My Gen1 ran 14.75 100% stock, do tires count? I had my 17 inch eagle VR45's on no drag radials or anything. It could have gone faster but mods got put on fast. LOL

some gen 1's are pretty darn quick. but not all. i need to get my car to a strip sometime soon.. if gen1s really are mid 14, i want low 14s!!

LOL I'd like to see a bone stock Gen1 run a 14.6 I don't believe that one. And not everyone on here has a mid 13-second Mark VIII like you claim is so easy to do if you haven't noticed by checking the NA list. And with that combination, the tune setup, exhaust setup, and even choice of stall converter can make a BIG difference. Aren't you the one that said kooks headers and cobra intakes are worthless? Well I have both. That time you see in my signature is on a fail chip tune. I had to manually shift the car because the lock-up schedule is terrible and the shift points are crap. It hasn't even seen a dyno yet. But don't listen to me. I just have a slow Gen2. Too bad I didn't have a Gen1 because I'd be running 12s NA right along driller and his 5.3!

I see one guy posted a 14.66 with his Gen1. Ok, there is one car. You make it sound like the vast majority of them run 14.60s stock which is far from true.

Back in the day, sub-15's were pretty common for Gen 1's, before they got old...

Oh they're definitely quicker than the Gen2s, no doubt. But a 14.75 is not a 14.60 either, so that still leaves us at one guy who responded with a 14.6 time. I'd like to see some Gen1s flood this thread with 14.60 slips bone stock and maybe then I'll shut up. The only thing that bothers me is that you got someone on here, a vendor no less, laughing at people because they can't run the times they expected. I've seen Gen1s with gears, and stalls run 14s and I've also seen supercharged Mark VIIIs run 13s. :q:q:q:q happens, but maybe Mr. Cocky should give some advice as to how one could attain those times. It's all in the setup in its ENTIRETY. So if a guy puts 4.10s, stall, exhaust and tune in a Gen1 and runs low 14s or a high 13, don't get mad at me because it didn't do better, maybe talk to the guy that LOL'ed in your face for running that time.

lol damn i wish track was open to see what this car will run stock before mods

turbo and a T-56!!

haha lol.

just sayin that cause thats what ima do once i join coast guard and start earnin some $$$!!

i was pretty sure i was going to paint car black, then i wanted blue, but after looking at 96's only not 97+ i think my car would look best white, just wondering if anyone knows a really nice pearl white to go with, something nice and deep looking,

started getting some loose sounds coming from front end and after garage had everything apart to do oil pan, i took it back to them to make sure something wasnt loose, he calls later in the day to say it needs all new bushings in front lower control arms. why wouldnt they say this when they has it all apart? and again he says i would have just scrapped this car, there not worth anything and parts are too much its just too old to have as a reliable daily driver, so i told him to stick to changing wiper blades and oil changes on new hondas and kias and ill be by to get my car dont touch it, get there and they're taking there sweet ass time getting it off lift, they turn air ride back on jump in start and immedietly pull of ramps before air ride has a chance to level up to clear, it barely but still scraps front end backing it off:mad: i told the guy its pretty sad how they conduct business, telling customers to scrap thier car rather than fix it.And as iam leaving mehcanic says " you wouldnt want to run my new camaro" i laughed and said " funny thing is my scrap car would probably spank your gay camaro" lol like honestly a new camaro lol my 68 plymouth would tow that camaro faster than it ever imagined going even with juice.

iam going to replace my control arms, are oem ones best or is there a better arm to get? its for a 96

If you have a $10,000 limit, supercharge that b!+@#!! :D That'll shut'em up!!

YA KNOW! :D

Might do a quick look through everything to make sure the engine is healthy enough for the extra HP boost though... Nothing worse than Whaaauh, Whaaauuhhh, Whaaa ~~~POW~~~ ----> Coasting! LOL! :D

Not saying that anyone here would do such things, but I've seen folks do to much to an engine that couldn't handle it before... It always sounds EXPENSIVE! :D

MAAAN! LET SOMEONE YANK MINE OFF THE RACK LIKE THAT... I am NOT the one to be playing them games with at all! Just sayin', if you didn't threaten some punches, or swing some hands, then you my sir are a better man than I. :) We would've be Kung-Fu Fighting! :D

As far as the front end parts, I'm finding that a common thing in Marks these days... I'm on my 2nd Mark VIII, and so far I had to change those bushings on both of the cars.

i know trust me if the owner wasnt about 90 and my mom wasnt the one who brought me to pick it up(she was only one around and has heart condition) usually i would have ran into the back like a nut and started throwing punches, i understand my cars in middle of body work and paint and looks like ass but still,

i would definetly go threw engine before adding any major engine mods, for now iam going to do just the basic exhaust gears trans chip, winters coming for me so not much going on next few months
