I cant believe I have never been to this site before! Just browsing today I have learned quite a bit about my car.
I am a Ford fanatic and just reciently have become Mustangless again. I do have a 1997 Mark VIII LSC, its green (sorry, dont know what the Lincoln color names are) with tan interior. I have had it for over a year now and bought it as a budget DD and have put over 30K on it and it has by far been the most reliable car I have ever had and was an excellent buy! I love this car!
It already has the coilovers at stock height but I am about to put in a better Strut/shock combo, prolly Tokico blues for the t-bird. The blend door repair/mod has been done and most of the bushings have been replaced with poly units and the ball joints, tie rods and controll arm bushings are newish as well.
I just overhauled the brakes with new calipers up front and drilled/slotted rotors all around with ceramic pads and braided lines, helped quite a bit.
I had a Sniper tune but thought I was going to sell the car so I returned it to stock and sold the Sniper. Dumb move cause I am going to have to buy another one now that I am keeping the car LOL!

These are the mods I plan on doing over the next year:
SCP Polished Stainless Mufflers
X-pipe resonator and have a 2.5" system fabed up
Trac Loc
SCP Pinion brace
Polly Diff mounts
SCP Diff cover brace (is it just like an 03/04 one?)
3.55 gears (alot of highway and I plan on a blower)
Trans cooler
Front support brace
Lower engine cradle brace
Rear torsional brace
Addco 1 3/8" sway bars
18 Wheels w/ 255/45 up front and 285/40 in rear
I realize I will have to mabey roll the fender but at stock height I should be good.... I hope. LOL!

The question is with supercharging. I am only looking for 380-400 rwhp and love the punch of a twin screw. I see the KB kit for the 96-98 Cobra has been used before and I like that idea with mabey a meth kit.
Since the kits $3800 and I already have a 255lph pump installed is there anything else I need to run it at the 5-6psi setup? Will it drop right in or do I need some additional parts? Will it fit under my hood? I see the 97-98 Marks dont have a cowl hood avaliable :(
If it does not fit and I have to go centri then what else do I need besides the Cobra kit and a Cobra plenum? Actually do I even need the plenum, canit hook to the Mark VIII plenum?

Here are some pics of my baby.

Jaime beat me to it. Good to see another Evergreen car.

Twin screw should fit under the stock hood. I'm sure someone has done it. There are a few Gen2s with eatons. And Cobra centri kits have been done with the stock intake but I'm not sure what needs to be changed or fabbed to make them work.

I dont really want to do an Eaton for a few reasons. They are innefecient and make too much heat. Also I would have to get "C" heads and a different timing cover if memory serves.

If the KB can fit without me modding the K-member then its the direction I would go. Unless the k-member mod is easy. I have only read a single post that said it needs to be done to clear the hood so IDK how accurate that is.

welcome, awesome looking mark, the color is ( F8 ) Evergreen 97 only.

Thanks! I have been told that its Evergreen but cant seem to remember that damn name. LOL!

I had responded to this post but it never appeared so i must have done something wrong.

Anyway, I had said that I did use the serch function and found some answers on here for my question but there was several contradictions.
I know some of you get mad if a n00b dosent serch first LOL! I am the same way on StangNet. :D

One post said the k-member needs to be dropped an inch to clear the hood. It sounds like a PITA and that it would cause other issues as well. If the k-member does need to be dropped as well as some special bracket for the alt (thought the Mark VIII acc routing was the same as 96-98 Cobras) then it seems a Vortech kit would be better.

With the Vortech I wonder if the aftercooler can fit in there like it would on a Cobra or if I would have to do a meth kit to avoid making a custom intercooler.

It will be a while before its blown as I am not rich by any means and would like to make the suspension better first as well as make the car sound better when I mash the go peddel.
Its nice to suprise the Hemi Chargers out there but a little more growl would be welcome :D

where did u purchase that dopuble din im looking to get one in about a couple weeks

I got it on ebay. I shopped for a while and had a Pioneer AVIC-D3 in my Terminator but it was so slow and you couldnt listen to a cd or DVD if the nav disc was in. I couldnt justify $1000+ for the Z series so after learning what I could (and I have installed for over 15 years) the Eclipse AVN5510 was the best buy. Nice touch screen, great menu system, 7 band quasi parametric EQ, DSP, Hi/Lo x-overs and a first rate nav system thats quick. It cost me $500 new but now I see them for around $400 on ebay.
It has a dual slot so you can have the nav DVD in and a MP3/CD at the same time.
Great sound quality but bypass the factory amp system as even the decks internal amp is better.

My point in mentioning the Eaton was that while I don't know for sure if the KB will fit under the stock Gen2 hood the Eaton has a similar profile and will fit.

Personally I would't bother with the KB on B heads.

And where do I get an Eaton that fits the "B" head? I have never seen such a thing other then that Tasca Mark. I know the 03/04 M112 wont bolt to the "B" heads or there would be a ton of Cobra guys doing it.

Not saying for you to use one or that there is a B head Eaton just that it has been done(with C heads) and fits under the stock hood.

Anyone here ever run a 285/40/18 on the rear? Wondering if I will have rubbing issues at the stock height.

How well does that parrot bluetooth work? I haven't seen anyone else that had one and I was curious since my state is working on passing that no cell phone while driving law.

It works fine if you are running the stock stereo or if you have an aftermarket deck thats using the decks internal amp. If you have a system with an outboard amp then it needs its own speaker. I bought a Jensen center channel speaker and attached it to the headliner after some modifications. Works well and is easy to use.

bill- looking for the blu shocks/stuts what mods did u have done to mark viii any particular year did u use

i have the converstion already but id like to replace the shock/struts

No. I highly doubt I am gonna do one now. Just do all the N/A stuff except anything internal and call it a day. I am gonna get another Stamg by next summer and that will get the blower.
The Mark is my DD and I dont need 400+ rwhp in it. 300 rwhp will be just fine and I think with the headers, no cats, Genos exhaust a Cobra plenum and really dial in my tune I should be close enough to my power goals.
