Greetings! I purchased a 2004 LS8 on May 22nd. Loving it so far.

I own my own video production company, and was out looking for a suitable Honda Civic hatchback or Toyota Matrix. You know, something with lots of room and no soul?

But the first place I went to did not have what I was looking for. When I told the salesman how much I wanted to spend (under $10,000) he showed me the Lincoln.

I don't know much about the car, but I did know that it had two of my favorite things. A V8 engine and rear wheel drive.

So I took it for a spin, wondering why it was so cheap. I went online and read a bunch of owner reviews, and did not find anything bad said about the car. So I bought it. It had just under 50k miles on it. I spent $9,400 before tax and dealer rip-off fees. I think it was a pretty good deal.

Car is super clean, hardly a mark on it. Missing a vent cover though. Maybe I can source one on here...

I went home and started reading more about the car, and the problems that people were having with them, so I went back and purchased an extended warranty for $2,500. So now not such a good deal, but I really do like the car. I've heard plenty of stories about folks who purchased an '00 or '01, then bought another newer one later. So they can't be all bad, right?

RIGHT?..... :D

Hopefully they got most of the bugs sorted by '04.

Anyway, I'm here to learn what I can, and be a general nuisance.

I also have a '93 Corvette, 40th Anniversary with a Hurst 6 speed in it. That's my stupid fast car. And it's not all that fast. It is pretty stupid though! So I won't be doing engine mods to the LS, I don't think.

I'll probably stick with tinting the windows, and maybe looking for a set of 18"s for it down the road.

I look forward to chatting and learning, and maybe someday contributing something useful!

Cheers!

Here's the Lincoln. Maybe you can tell me what package I have? Has moonroof, heated and cooled seats, no wood, black leather, machined alloys. Is it a Sport Premium? Dunno...

Here's the Vette, just for grins. Ya'll probably don't like these Bowtie cars, eh?

Thanks!

I was lurking for a few hours yesterday. Mostly looking at the big honking picture thread, trying not to get any big ideas...

Seems like a real nice forum.

Niice car, mine is the same except the color is silver. You probably have the Sport model.

I am sure you will love the car. Although I have not seen where the LS has many problems there are a few that everyone seems to have and you will be glad you purchased the warranty to cover them.

enjoy.

I replied, but I musta said something bad. The mods grabbed it. Hopefully it will show up soon. And I'll try to watch my language. :(

ToeCutter... From Mad Max? Great movie!

Toecutter: Anything I say... What a wonderful philosophy you have.

Welcome! Nice 40th Anniversary Corvette! - someone on LvC recently bought one of those.

Welcome. Awesome car you have there. Definitely wanting some tint and that front tag removed!

Front plate is required in Colorado. Cops get bent if you don't have something on there. I have to register the car before I get the plates. Waiting for the title to show. Should be any day now.

I hinted to my daughter that tint would be a great father's day gift...

Thanks all.

Man, joining this forum might get expensive...

I think I am going to need some Eibach lowering springs, and a set of 20" Jaguar Sentas...

Damn you LsUnV2!

...the man is selling his Sentas as you read this...I think he wants 1700...they are a nice set of hoofs

I'd pick them up but I want something a little lighter

welcome, nice car(s), vette looks interesting :).

$1,700 is a bit rich for me right now. I cleaned out the bank to pay for the Lincoln. My previous vehicle needed more work than it was worth, so had to buy another. Not that I'm complaining. Well maybe a little...

Thanks for the welcome and kind words everyone!

Except Pete...:p

Looks like the same trim I have...'04, Vivid Red, black sport interior...except I have 1st gen chrome 5 spoke wheels.
Welcome here, and enjoy!
By the way, I love the color!
