My new project Mark VIII

i wouldnt put anything on it that didnt come on it. stock resto. even down to the original tires that came on it. put it all back to stock, only way to make it really valuable.

I have seen a few pics of the verts and I like the one you bought the best. Congrats on the buy have fun bringing it back to life should be fun.

Like what? 5 grand?

What it really needs is just the right wheels. Something classic yet current. Something lacy like some BBS's. But not large eaither as the car needs some sidewall. If it was ANY other color I would get those white walls with the gold stripe but in black the car should keep black walls.
I would get rid of the door edge gaurds and then I would get the wood interior kit and use all the wood except the pieces that go around the vents.
Then I would pull that deck and put a McIntosh deck in because they illuminate just like the cars climate controll and they have a classic and classy look to them. Then I would fix that anntena and have a cover made for the top.
Throw in a Ray switch, convert it to true dual exhaust with nice mufflers but stock tips and still use a center resonator to keep it quiet for around town top down driving. Thats about it. I would store it away all year and use it as a Summer commuter and just enjoy something that is a sweet ride and very very rare. I bet at a stop light that would have the Ford GT owner staring at it as hard as I stare at his car.

Im going all stock. I already have 2 lightly modded marks. Its going to be harder I think to get it back to original. Anyone can throw aftermarket parts on a car.

You need to find an oem in dash cd player.... oem+ ftw!

I know. Im trading my brother for his stock am\fm cass.

5 grand, 10 grand, 2 grand who gives a :q:q:q:q i meant valuable to chris, restoring it to stock, and keeping it for a long time , priceless.

I just think it would be awesome to be cruising with the top down in a Lincoln... what you need now is a 60's continental convertible in triple black to go with it!

Too bad they run $50k+ :D

94 convert

nice to see something diffrent,,good luck with your new toy,,I'm still waiting for mine to be picked up:shifty:

Nice looking car Chris. I seen one exactly like that at carlisle back in 2002 or one exactly like it. It is really cool and different to see one like that in person. My wife would kick my a$$ if I had that many marks at my house.

lol its funny you say that kuz none of them are at my house right at the moment. The g\f has the CE at work, the 96 is in storage at my parents, and I left the 94 inside the body shop this weekend.

I saw the pictures from the tripple black vert at carlisle, but the pictures show VA plates, and I bought this from the original owners family (PA natives), so I dont think it was the same car, although very similar.

so thats what happened to the vert mark......i kept trying to get a hold of the guy....lol....congrats on the purchase!!!!!!!!!! You'll def make it a beaut!!!!

You guys act like its a damn hemi cuda. It's not a factory ford vehicle... An aftermarket company made it a convertible.

Its by far the 2 rarest Mark 8s besides the factory supercharged one that 1badmk8 ownes. So i guess yeah it would be the damn hemi cuda of the mark 8.

it doesn't have jbl, so it wont have it after im done fixing it up.

Just a thought and I know its not OEM but since it is hidden it may be alright to you. By far the best sounding speaker I have used in a Ford running the stock non-premium deck was a speaker from Concept. The 6x8 co-axial with the blue cone. My shop sold them for $45 a pair and I think cost was $20. Something about them made them a perfect match for stock Ford decks. The speakers natural freequency modulation was a perfect match for what the Fords deck puts out and the sound was just incrediable, way way better then stock and you should be able to get fronts and rears for under $50.
