Doing my usual Craig's List search today, and I came across a set of Cobra R 17's in our bolt pattern. The guy bought them on Ebay thinking they would fit is Mustang GT. The Ebay seller screwed him. He decided not to pursue it. Instead I got them on CL for cheap. These are going on my son's Evergreen LSC. What would be a good size to mount. I was thinking 245/45/17.

Do I need a rolled fender for the rear?

You shouldn't with the 245 45 17s I have a set of 255 50 17s on mine and only once in a while I'll get a slight rub.

It is hard though to ride with people in the back seat ... then rubbing will happen more often. Personally I look at my Mark VIIIs as two seaters ... LOL

I just got cobra wheels and my 275/40/17 fit with no rubbing issues at all in the back. I went with 245/45/17 front and 275/40/17 in back.

The 245/45/17 is the tire I'm going to go with. The wells have a few scuffs on them. I'm thinking of repainting them before I mount them or chrome powdercoat them.

I almost never find 5X4.25 wheels on CL locally. Especially ones that I would actually like. Usually it's those bling 20's or Jaguar or Volvo wheels. I definitely lucked out on these.

Are those Silver or white, I can not tell from the pics, they look white in color. Great find by the way lucky bastard.

greg if those are 17x9 i wouldnt put a 245 tire on them i would go no skinnier than 255 or the outside lip of the wheel wont be protected by the tire. a 245 tire on a 9 inch rim will be stretched onto the rim. if you are gonna get 4 of the same tires so they can be rotated i would do a 255-40 or 265-40. i'll take a close up of what a 245 tire looks like on a 9 inch rim because thats what i run in the front and i dont like it, the front rim is exposed to serious rash if i am not careful.

I like Fuzion tires, because the bead of the tire has extra meat around it to protect the edge of the rim. Plus, you can get a 245/45/17 in an H speed rating (making the tire more affordable) since I'm sure he wont be consistantly doing 150mph+ in his Mark...

tire sizes

I've got the original '94 million spoke wheels on mine. I have 12 of these wheels, 4 of which are new. I have been thinking of widening a pair for the rear. Wonder if there's clearance to widen the inside of the wheel and where to cut them inboard of the bead. if so, could I use spacers to widen the track if inside clearance is an issue?
If so, how wide and what 16" tires will fit? 3.73's going in as soon as snow melts! Traction is already a problem.
Nitrous and water/methanol injection after that will just make it worse.
Car is sensor lowered already, running 235's now.
