Aint nothing special at all. With 300lbs of stereo and my fat arse in it I was happy with its performance.
I cant tell you all how much I love this car. Love the color. Love the ride. Love the sound. It is easily my favorite Mark. Cant wait for modding to begin!

Now to figure out why my puddle lamp dont work and figure out how to change a cruise control button light bulb.

Thanks. It weird. This exhaust is much quieter inside then the white car but louder outside. I r teh cornfused.

Anybody have an idea at what the 0-60 is? Its kinda hard to tell cause I am holding the car at 1000rpm before launch so its a second or so into the video before I am actually mashing the stupid pedal. I get 6.5-7 seconds with my stopwatch. That sound right?

I didn't know the exhaust was done on this one. Mine is very quiet inside compared to outside.

Sounds great! What are you running, exhaustwise?
X-pipe, 2.5" press bend pipes and Flowbastard cans. Not sure what series.

The mufflers will be pulled in favor of Borla XS Pros when funds allow.

Yes. So far the mods are:

X-pipe
Flowbastards
K&N filter
Saturn IRS brace
Saturn K-member brace
ASHAM8
Black Saleen Speedstars
Stereo system
Matching brights (in color but not HID)
Silverstars
Glitch Ballast

Thats about it I think.

From my editing program, it's 7 sec flat based on the speedometer. Should be faster though if the speedometer reading is correct.

What's the advantage of the Borlas?

Sorry for the questions, I just bought a 98 base and I'm trying to get something resembling a plan together with how I want to do everything... there are so many different exhaust setups people are running on these cars, it's hard to decide, haha.

They're Flowmaster Super 44's, let me know when you cut them off. I'll buy them back.

Flowmasters aren't that great for flow compared to true 'straight-through' mufflers like magnaflow. A lot of people think the flowmaster chambered mufflers have a better sound though. In the end it's only a few HP that you'll lose going with flowmaster so just go with what you think sounds best. Just look up mark VIII exhaust setups on youtube and see what you prefer.

That's the problem... I've listened to every clip on every exhaust thread on here and there are quite a few I like. A few HP doesn't mean much in the overall scheme of things, I'm taking into consideration things like cabin noise/drone in addition to how much I like the overall sound. Especially since the car is a base... pretty much anything is going to get me at least a little power increase. I got really intrigued when he mentioned quieter inside but louder outside.

wow is 1st to 2nd really that sloppy when stock?
Yup. Cant wait for an Xcal and to start tuning this bish. I HATE the stock shift program.

As for the Borlas, I just like the sound better.

There's no REAL power difference in an LSC, the few HP from factory duals isn't felt in acceleration. It's the gears that make a small difference. Get 3:73's and a Jmod before exhaust if you actually want to spend money on something useful.

The plan is 4.30s actually :D. Jmod will come eventually... the current trans was just put in and has fresh fluid so I'm not in any huge hurry.

I have big plans for the car... not a matter of what's getting done and what isn't, just a matter of priority and details.

Laser, sorry to derail your thread.

Well it's making me really love the 1-2 busted accumulator in my TBird right about now !

Hey, the jmod isn't just for old transmissions. It really helps change the feel of the car.

Sorrry for the derail Laser.

I'm kinda old school with my exhaust. I've got stock exhaust with cut off mufflers and straight pipes on the '96 and cherry bombs and H-pipe on the '97 LSC. They sound great! Makes them sound like old 60's hot rods! And I don't hear any drone with either setup.
