Marks Loosing it's Appeal

Well cool, I hope they are becoming less desierable. I want one of my own again in the worst way so if people arnt snatching them up I will wait for another pristine grey one with black interior to show up or a 97 blue LSC and snag it for cheap. :D

I know it was kinda a have to situation with the grey one that you had but the looks of that car was fuggin sick. I liked the white one too but all that stuff you had for the white one belonged in the grey one lol. I want to see you back in another one too and if you can find a grey on black, I'd make it happen, one way or another. It's just not a color you see everyday, especially with black interior.

A little bit too many miles but if it has been taken care of, the mileage shouldn't matter. 5K is to steep for me and I want another black on black but not so much a 96 because of the hard to find parts. This one needs some new front air shocks but other than that, it looks pretty clean for it's age.

$1500 for a 97. It has some major mileage on it though. Has double what my 95 has. Unless he has the "Rays Switch", something doing with the air ride isn't new as he claims. Lookin a lil slammed to me.

This 95 is 50 min from me and I am almost about to consider it. The creme color is throwing me off but the black interior is making me want it.

97 for 2950 but mileage is nice. Needs front air shocks too.

I wouldn't say they are undesirable but like mentioned by someone else, parts are sometimes hard to find but if you know how to look, you can find what you want, for the most part.

Was that the beautiful grey one with the black rims that I thought was one of the most awesome Marks at LVC? A little piece of me died when ya sold that, hope ya find one to make even cooler.

Yes. :(

Location is another factor. I'm in the boot heel of MO and nobody wants to drive to come see it. Lot's of calls until I tell them where I'm at. I've only seen 2 other Marks in a 30 mile radius so they are just not popular where I am. However my car would make some one a good one if they would actually come look at it.

High standards. I am weird like that. I just have a thing about changing a cars factory color. If I pull back some capet to work on something and see a different color it pisses me off. I want the engine bay and jambs and everything to match. And that kind of paint job is DOUBLE what a clean Mark would cost.

True, I hear ya on having eveything the same color..but if you do the prep work yourself it wouldn't be bad..paint is paint..I'm sure you know enough people that could hook you up with a quality paint job at a decent price, but I understand you wanting to just find one the proper color to start with...just might take a while.

I've noticed the activity in this forum and the other forums slow down considerably. Sure we have our core group of members on here, by that I mean active members of three years or more. But it's not like it was back in 2006-2009. New members are coming up here and there. I'll be the first to admit, I've lost a lot of my interested in my Mark, but I for sure wont sell it. I am going to make it look as it was originally, and relegate it to a weekend car. Which is as most of us are doing. I'm ridding my garage of all of the parts I've collected over the years as well. Marks are so cheap now, there is really no point in dumping a boatload of money into one with gears and other go fast stuff, only to put it up for sale a few years later, and expect to get $6000 for it. Only if you're planning to keep it. As for me, my Mark will be my cruiser on the weekends.

I'm keeping my Mark until either it dies or I do, whichever comes first. But with 215k miles, I really need to start looking for a good, low mileage engine for the inevitable day mine decides to spin a bearing or throw a rod:D I'm thinking of looking for a decent beater like a 2.3L Fox Mustang to drive to work and back and keep the Mark for the weekends or special occasions. But that ain't happenin' until I can find some money somewhere:D

I don't know about you but I would never spend TEN THOUSAND dollars on a mark viii.QUOTE]

I would if I had the money and I was looking for a nice Mark VIIII bought

I would too if I had more money than I knew what to do with and I found a nice 1500 mile Mark VIII somebody put in storage or something like that:D

here is another one im sure many have seen. http://bellingham.craigslist.org/cto/3361691816.html

just buy an motor and tran for.your mark........give it some appeal.. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/dak/pts/3344579237.html

or just no appeal at all http://newyork.craigslist.org/fct/cto/3368672856.html

This is why we dont allow you to post. So your idea of cool i either a Mark with a crap two tone paint job and decals, or a Mark thats been desicrated by having an iron block thrown in it, or a Mark thats owner thinks is an LSC and worth WAY more than it is (plus hideous color combo) or a Mark that is no the super vato mobile.

I like how its one of a kind but there's two in the pic.

Also its a kit anyone could buy.

Yeah that got me. A "one of a kind" with two in the picture. Really? You can do better than that. Also. It's just ugly. Do not want.

I love mark viii. I have never owned one but i am willing to sell my beloved rx8 just to get one. All my friends call me crazy and laugh when i tell them im going to get a lincoln mark viii. I dont know what it is but I like mark viii No homo. :)

If your RX8 is a manual '06 or newer, especially a black GT with nav, I'll trade my '96 LSC straight up. :D

I am starting to appreciate marks more. Drove past one the other day that was toreador red and it had an HID kit installed, gen 2. Wonder if it was someone from this forum? I was in a black ls driving to my apt complex.

Any time i see a beat up Lincoln, it makes me cringe. People need to take better care of their cars.
