I was bored at work today, so I made some new speaker grille emblems for my 98. I've been getting tired of the JBL ones that were on it, since I've got a complete JL Audio sound system.
These are just a mock-up for right now. I don't have the car with me (it's getting painted, see other post), so I don't have the exact dimensions, but when I get them, I'll make some better ones. :)

If anyone could measure theirs and let me know the exact size, I would love you forever. :p I won't be getting my car back from the body shop until Friday.

I made them on an Epilog Laser Engraver. I didn't have the actual picture on the computer to go by, so I had to search through all of the fonts to find ones that were similar.

If I remember I can measure mine after work for you tomorrow.

They do look nice

I would love to have 2 of those with "JL Audio" only if you want to price me for two. I have the evolutions in the front and three 10" JL's in the trunk.

Send me a PM if you're interested is making 2 more with JL AUDIO only on them. I'm not sure if ours would be the same size or not but I'll gladly measure mine if needed. The JBL look on my tweeters is getting very old looking. It would be nice to replace that with something different.

What exactly did you make them out of?

Ok I measured them today. There just a hair under 1.5in long and quarter inch tall. Hope this helps.

Nolimit.....I asked the guy that's in charge of the engraver if I could make some more for another guy (you), and for how much, and he told me $50! All it is is a piece of engravable plastic. He told me he let me do it as a favor to me. I'll see if I can make you some though. I wouldn't charge you much at all. Probably just enough to cover shipping (a dollar?). What dimensions do you need?

Dmaup.....Thanks for measuring yours, but I see that you've got a 97. The emblems on the 97's are actually a different design. They're a little shorter than the 98's. I measured mine today, and it was actually 1.75 inches. Thanks anyway though.

I'll get you the measurements for mine tomorrow. I only want 2 for the tweeter area on a 94. Yes, if you can cut 2 of them, I'll pay you the shipping plus something for the work put into it. I couldn't go for the $50 because I'm working on getting some 1" JL's to replace the tweeters that are in there now not being used and as you know, those little things don't come cheap.

I'll get the size up here tomorrow and I appreciate you trying to work some up for me.

dmaup....yeah, it's kinda dumb, but I really like the way that they changed them for 98. They look a lot better than the 97's and they look like they hold up better as well. I know the one's on my 97 look like poop. The black and silver paint/coating is peeling off of them, but I can tell that my 97 was never really taken care of before I got it. But hey, can't complain for $900.

Nolimit....I looked through some pictures of older Marks and even though there weren't any close-up pictures of the emblem on the door panel, it looks like they're probably the same size as what Dmaup posted for his 97. Let me know.
Just so you know, I can't guarantee that I'll be able to get them for you, but I will guarantee that I'll try. I'll just tell him that I'm making them for my 97, too.
I wish I had known that you were wanting some JL tweeters. I just gave my sister-in-law's boyfriend a set of JL tweeters that came with my old XR-series components. They've just been sitting in my closet for like 4 years. I only used them for like 9 months before my system got stolen, and then the car got totalled. I just bought new ones when I got my current car (the 98).

hey is it possible to get a complete set made that says "Pioneer Premier PRS".
I would be willing to pay $20 shipped.

I'm gonna have to guess probably not. Those ones that I posted the original pics of were just "prototypes," and I still haven't been able to get the guy to help me make my finished product. At this point, I'm not sure I'll be able to get my own made, let alone any for other people.

I'm sorry, if it were my equipment, I'd make them in a heartbeat, but the guy I've got to work through is a bit of an a-hole.

Just in case, I see you've got a 97, do you have the 1.5 inch ones?
