Whewwww went to the track again, will post time slips tomorrow, got 3 runs this time, one 15.3 idk why i messed up shifting, the others were both 14.8's i posted both of them. i am about to acquire a new intake tube for the ls and hopefully that will help. I used 02LSE technique of starting in d5 and quickly shifting over to SST on both 14.8's it helped greatly. thats all till next time! or tomorrow when i post the slips. lol.

Good Job! Told ya, 2.2s will get 14.8-14.9, even a 14.7 looks like. You will definately hit 14.5-14.6 when you hit a 2.1.

My track don't open for a few more weeks yet so you can beat my time...for now.

How do you launch it?

I think when i get the aluminum LSK intake tube it will help me out a bit, ive heard good things about it and i bet that stock baffle and plastic tube is really restrictive. I started out in D5 and after i got going i shifted over to SST just in time to shift to 2nd. It got me much better launches than just starting out in SST. i hit the rev limiter in 2nd both times tho. so i think i can do better if i get my shifts perfect.

Practice. Your car is capable of better times as it sits judging by what you've said and your times.

You have to move the shifter over to SST right after you foot hits the floor, it will shift into 2nd when you move it over otherwise. Also it takes about 500rpm 1-2 and 400 2-3 for the trans to actually shift after you command it.

Torrie corrected my SST, I can now use 1st like you should be able to. Contact him for a test tune and see if he can fix yours. One less thing to think about while preparing to launch.

I just emailed him, i think before he told me it wont work on my 00, but well see what he can do. Hopefully that would make things much nicer lol. I am just waiting on some spare $$ to get the tube and then head back to the track. Let me know when yours opens back up!

nice, i got the SST fix from torrie, its awesome! finally i can use 1st at will. It does work on 2000's for anyone who was wondering. As soon as i get the tune i will be hitting the track. Maybe some spray in the near future? :steering

Got a new tune since Tuesday, feels very nice. Track was to slick to get the 60' needed to beat my best but the car is definately stronger. Even with poor 60's my times are as good as my best times before the tune. With the 60' I hit Last Tueday 2.123^^^^^ I would have had a 14.3 easily.

i just recently ran 9.37 at 78.4 in the 1/8th with a 60 foot of 2.27. ... I just installed some nitto 555rs so i should be able to lower my 60 by a tenth or so. I also just bypassed my hydr fan with an electric fan and took off the hydr pump, sway bar, and now running a smaller belt(since i now have one less pump). So i hope soon to be in the 9.1's before i decided to go spray.

Went to the track tonight with a Fox body Stang friend of mine for sh*ts and giggles since I haven't been on a track since that fateful day last November when I blew up my '87 at Atlanta Dragway :)(). Hot and humid out tonight, which I hate racing in, but whatever. Was just nice getting back out there again.

First run:

2.563
6.940
10.442
71.04
13.391
15.854
92.23

After getting my slip, I realized that my dumb ass forgot to take off the traction control.

Second time out, 2 hours and 15 minutes later:

2.291
6.324
9.656
74.45
12.487
14.890
94.42

I need more seat time at the track in this car, because it's got a little more in it. That'll come in November when I trek down to ATL for the SSHS7 event. Plus, I need to go when it's cooler out. That KKM without a heat shield was blistering hot after my first run. Tonight might actually get me off my ass to build a shield for it finally.

Half tank of gas, 4030 pounds with me in it (about 185). Mods are in the signature.

Your car has allot left in it. You should be turning that time, or even a little faster, in stock form with your Gen 2 LS.

I'm very well aware of that. As I'm sure you're aware that hot and humid isn't ideal for racing ;)

You are not exactly stock so that would usually make up for the DA that you were probably experiencing then. What was the DA that day at your track anyways?

Dunno. They don't have it on the slips. All they have are temp and absolute barometer. They were:

84 degrees, 28.87 AB
78 degrees, 29.05 AB

This is why I don't like racing when it's hot and humid, but I wanted to go just to get back out there. I'll go again when it's a little cooler out and hopefully have some sort of shield for that KKM. Like I mentioned, once that thing gets hot the car feels like it doesn't want to move.

Try and find that slip...thats a pretty amazing time.
