So I've decided that my Mark is kinda hopeless. It has a lot of problems and I really don't want to fix everything, I'd rather spend my time maintaining and upgrading.

I just looked at a potential Mark that is in need of much less work, it is more or less drivable as it is. It is a 95, Champagne, with Black interior. There is 140k on the clock, and it has a few dents and chips with minimal rust. The only mods are limo tint and 18's.

The list of problems from a quick look is:
Air Ride, leaks down over a few days
Oil leak, coming from around the crank pulley or oil filter area somewhere.
Windshield wipers, don't work in the lower settings
Tach is stuck at 2k

My 94 has Black interior so I have spares for everything inside, and after parting the 93 I have plenty of everything else.

I'm trying to decide what to offer and how hard it would be to fix the few issues it has. Any thoughts or inputs are welcome.

Sounds like the Mark VIII you are looking at has a whole lot of issues, what's wrong with yours?

Go out of state, look for somthing with less miles.
If you want a gen 1 most of them are rusty In Minn.
Whats you budget ??? I will keep my eyes open for somthing rust free.

I was lucky to find a Gen 1 low miles no rust in this state.

I have no problem fixing small issues. Air rid, just switch to coils. The oil leak, prolly just a crank seal no big deal. The tach i dunno but I have 3 extra clusters so whatever. The wipers I don't know but they still work, just not on low settings.

My car need to have the engine replaced, and has some pretty nasty rust. I just want to get a decent project car that only needs some simple work done to it.

When my wipers didn't work at the slower speeds I changed the multifunction switch and that was the problem, work great now.:)

I was gonna offer $1000, he wants $2000 for it. I told him I'd give him 2 grand if he puts lowered coils on with all new suspension, and fix the oil leak.

thats sounds high $2000 will the guy take off a grand i would say no i have seen plenty of marks 70 to 100,000 miles in good shape for $1500 obo i would be lucky to get 2 for my car and it has 88,000 on it and mantained to a tee

I will make him an offer and if he takes it he takes it, if not I will keep looking.

If I do get it the first thing will be getting rid of the hideous after market bling wheels.
