this thing has been on the loft for god knows how long. it had over spray on it, dust, dirt, scratches and unfortunatly a ding in it too, dam! i didnt even see the ding until after i did this and said hell i'll do the whole thing. i am gonna fix the ding, sand the hood and repaint it for my car, my hood has a screw up in the paint so i'll repaint another one and swap them. and i got it looking so good too :( what a waste!!

Huh? Should I turn up my hearing aid? Lol

you don't need but just a hair more than the weight of it to get a very very successful scuff. Sure, grind it in, don't wetsand the new finish, use a foam pad instead of wool, and don't stage your rubbing compound, and you'd probably be right. Takes alot of notgivingasheitaboutyourfinish for your statement to be correct, sir.. :slap: :Beer

edit: on second thought, maybe I used green? Still, though.. common sense gets ya there EASily.
And I don't mean to rip on your work Jamie.!

i wet sanded it with 1000grit. the ding is exactly where the hood latch rod is, you can see the rod in the pics, the part that locks into the latch when you shut to hood, it has a ding right above it, from another hood leaning against it in the shop, the rod from the other hood put the ding there!!

and rip on my work? the hood has been sitting around for years, someone had flat black spray paint all over it in patches, i did this for the hell of it, i didnt care what my result was because as soon as i found the ding i knew i would sand and repaint it so whats there to rip on lol.

Damn... i am trying to get good at body work too but just cant and an i dont know why. o well i guess it just comes with practice very nice.

lsc8 is'nt a retard when it comes to this subject. IIRC he has been in the autobody industry for going on 9 years.

the other side of the hood i am not wasting my time doing, the whole hoos is getting sanded and repainted, i am doing 2 of them at the same time, the one on my 97, and the one on my father in laws 98!
