Locked My Keys In My Car!!

Is this the one that caught on fire? Is the battery still hooked up? If not, then you'll have to pop a window..those windows are like $10 from salvage yards..it's not a stupid idea if you have no extra key nor power to the locks...

No it is the 93 I fixed up. The 98 is dead, and soon to live again in other LVCers cars. :D

Good then you have a spare glass, pop the quarter panel window...DO IT!!!

I think it's a T50 to remove the seat belt anchor, I could be wrong tho

Well, I would never make it as a car thief. I gave in and called a locksmith. He has all the goodies. Check out how he did it.

That's neat. I have to carry a spare key in my wallet for the '96 since my keypad quit working - someday I may take the door panel off and see what's wrong with it. Fortunately, the keypad on the '97 LSC works fine. The keypad on the door is one of the best ideas Ford has ever had. It may well be the best idea ever in the automotive industry!:) I'm glad Ford's still using it on most of their vehicles.

i love the keypad. 1 suggestion is to remove all the stickers with the entry code number that were located on the trunk hinge and drivers side door jam(97 fwiw).. i just took both off and put 1 in my wallet and another in another secret place.. ya never know..take your car in for service of any kind and next thing you know your car got "broken" into.

i love how so many kept saying where the code is in the trunk. if the car is locked, and the keys are inside the car, how the :q:q:q:q do you open the door to push the trunk release, and if you manage to push the trunk release, thats means you got the door opened, so you no longer need to even look in the trunk!!! some people i swear just skim over certain posts and read only a few words out of 20. gman what the hell is that around the rear window???????????

clearly the best option is to cut a hole in the floor of the trunk, crawl into it and read the code

anytime i am inside a mark VIII and the keys are in the car, a window is always down, that my friends, is what you do when you are inside the car, so this doesnt happen! it only takes 2 seconds to put a window down.

a while back i was cleaning my car out with my daughter in it, and i got to the other side of the car to open the door it was locked so i had to walk back around and the wind blew it shut.. luckily i had the sun roof open cuz i panicked and forgot the code so i had to run to the neighbors and get a broom and pop the unlock button throught the top of the sun roof.. but i use the keypad all the time when i go into the store ill leave the car running and lock the doors and use the pad to get back in

I saw on the Power Block the other weekend that Matco Tools has just the thing for this. It is an air bag that you slide in between the door and the jam and there is a small pump as in a bulb like a blood pressure cuff, just pump it up by hand and you can put in as much pressure as you want and slide that brake line in no muss no fuss no scratches!!

I thought it was a pretty neat idea and why someone had not come up with it before now.
thats nothing new, ive had one of those kits for many many years and yes the inflatable bladder and lock bar is the only way to go
Sorry late on this ...

But you can jack up the front then reach your hand through the bumper to the cable this doesn't always work but it has it the past for me...
.....:shifty: rich did you go off your meds again

+1000000!!! any time im working on a car the window is down

The coat hanger trick is hard to do because of the length of the door for one, and the fact that the door and the body are shaped to where they fit each other and keep the weather out... Talk about hard to get ANYTHING in there and still expect to hit your target once you make a zig zag out of a coathanger, lol

I locked my keys in my car once back when my drivers door handle was still broken. Talk about irony when the drivers door is unlocked and you have no way to open it!

:q:q:q:q - this almost happened to me yesterday - I was used to the mustang that didnt lock! hhaha..

How do I program the keypad? I dont know what code the previous owner had and Im afraid to just start pushing buttons :(

I worked in repair shops and dealers for years and that's the first thing that they taught you to do when working on any car-lower the window, no matter what it is you are doing. It's a habit now.

off subject: you tagging along with the kid to wisc this weekend?

I planned on it but things got screwed up.

A group of us plan a yearly fishin trip, last year I missed the fishin trip and this meet because of the remodel of the house.
This year the only time we all could make it was the same as this meet.
So I had to make a choice, I went with the fishin.

Kid was on my ass.

I think loser is the term of endearment.

Summer is so dam short.

would it be possible to come on friday night just to hang out and go fishing saturday?
