I can't believe I did that. I locked the key in the 93 while I was working on the radio. I hit the lock button, got out to get a screwdriver and the door closed. Any ideas I can try before I give up and call a locksmith?:mad:

anyone try the cell phone trick with a spare remote? hold cell phone near door and have someone key the spare remote over the phone. not sure if this works but i heard it did....

This myth came about when cell phones first came out. The old bag phones used to transmit up to 5 watts of power and were analog. That much power near a reciever can overload it and cause a spurious response by the rke module. In theory, with an analog transmitting and receiving phone, it might maybe somewhat kinda work. Now days, 99% of cell phones put out 0.01 watt or less and are of course digital.

Pop the window and replace it with the one from the parts car....beats the $60+ for a locksmith.

If you have a spare 1/4 glass, pop that one....that glass is so stupid easy to replace...you don't have to cut anything..once inside remove rear trim, remove several nuts from edge of glass, push old glass out, there's a very thin strip of tar, but it's not very adhesive

seriously break a window, you guys are fackin idiots!!!!!!

STOP....think, get a wedge of some sort...plastic something that is not gonna scratch paint...slide it into the door jam wedge top of window frame open, take a clothes hanger, or i prefer 1/4" steel tube IE: brake line, and go fishing...feed it in there and hit the door lock button...i do tons of lock outs this way...$60 for my trouble no more then a minute or 2 on site to get the vehicle unlocked

I will give that a try. I had a slim jim in my tool box, don't know how I got it, but I am clearly lacking in Grand Theft Auto skills. I have no idea what to do with that thing.

I saw on the Power Block the other weekend that Matco Tools has just the thing for this. It is an air bag that you slide in between the door and the jam and there is a small pump as in a bulb like a blood pressure cuff, just pump it up by hand and you can put in as much pressure as you want and slide that brake line in no muss no fuss no scratches!!

I thought it was a pretty neat idea and why someone had not come up with it before now.

Sorry late on this ...

But you can jack up the front then reach your hand through the bumper to the cable this doesn't always work but it has it the past for me...

I locked myself out of Whiner one day, and called the lock smith to come and get me into the car. They opened the trunk for me so that I could get the code off the door lock receiver, and made me a set of spare keys to keep in my wallet. Cheaper than a window.

LOL you guys should use your code every other day so you memorize it. No Lincoln owner should ever lock his keys in his car.

The code consists of 5 digits. Each can be 1/2 or 3/4 or 5/6 or 7/8 or 9/0, this means 5 variants only. There are only 625 variants vailable, but you must not try 11111, 33333 etc. It takes only an hour to "hijack" the code...

GMAN,

It's written on a sticker on the underside of your trunk lid.

Also, you can reprogram a new code. It won't delete the old code, but it will give you an opportunity to put in a code that you might remember better.

I often times lock my keys in my car... hidden in a super secret place of course

though I once left my parking lights on at the airport and had to have someone drive my spare keys 30 miles to my location :(

the code should be on the passenger side (RIGHT) tRUNK lid arm. you can also reprogram and additional personal code one easier to remenber for you. after punching the factory code then if iremenber right you punch 1/2 within 5 seconds then enter your own number consisting of 5 numbers this will only work if the battery is connected. also read the owners manuel for additional information. also when you wedge open the window don't over do it are you will have to have it realigned. locks keep honest people honest.jd

Put a wire coat hanger down and hit the unlock button. Ford cars are easy like that.

Haha, even Laser and I know each others codes...I've made it a habit to use ONLY the code to get in my car now..even my older kid knows how to unlock and relock the car by the code

I even use my code to pop my trunk, as I keep the button locked incase of a break in

if you have your owners manual, the code is in there as well

I've never has much luck with the coat hangers, if you're gonna fish for the lock button, I recommend a piece of fence runner wire ( that's the long straight one normally on the bottom of chain link fences), it's thin and MUCH stouter than a coat hanger

Guys, I know all the places where the code is. This does me no good however since I am on the outside, this car was not meant to be my primary car but a fix and sell, so I never remembered it.

Is this the one that caught on fire? Is the battery still hooked up? If not, then you'll have to pop a window..those windows are like $10 from salvage yards..it's not a stupid idea if you have no extra key nor power to the locks...
