Hey guys I need some more help!!! I have gotten alot of good help from you all on here but this time is an emergency. I have all my keys in the trunk. My keys to my S-10, Ford Van, and the Mark!!! I do not have any vehicles to drive at all. This sucks! Well I tried to put the wiring harness together so that I could hook up the battery and use the button on the door panel but I ran out of light so I have'nt gotten it right. I got mostly everything hooked up and hooked up the battery but it still did'nt work so I am guessing that I did'nt have all of the grounds down! I ran out of light right when I was trying it so I could'nt check-down things. But if that does'nt work is there anyway I can straight wire the switch to a battery so that I can pop the trunk? If anyone knows please chime in and let me know. Appreciate all the other help LVC.

^ good idea. I would not have thought of that. Heck, once the panel is pushed back one could probably reach anywhere back there. That brace is not too big. And the rear seats come out quick.

Bottom you just push back on each side then up. Then the back bench is held down with just two bolts at the base. Pull bottom edge towards you then straight up off the upper hooks.

Pull out the lower cushion and then locate the two bolts that hold the seat back in place. Remove the bolts. Lift upward and toward you to remove the seat back. Reach in and push the sound dampner out of the way from the bottom. Find keys.

Take all your damn keys off the same damn ring! Any idea how bad that is for ignition switches. All that extra weright just dangling there making the switch loose so that the electrical connections wear out? Thats why most new cars cant really attach a big key chain to their keys.

Preciate you all that is what I will do. But yeah I know I don't have many keys on there Laser! Just three. Happened to be the three keys I need the most. lol I don't have a door key for the van and the S-10 door locks are broke so I haven't had the door key on my keychain in years. I really appreciate you all. I thought about that but have'nt had my seat out yet and did'nt know what was behind the seat.

You'll see insulation and right on the other side of that, is the thick cardboard panel. Maybe that panel has been removed already but you have three big holes to work with. Use the bottom holes if the board is in. You will not be able to reach to the back of the trunk by hand. Extended magnet, metal clothes hanger or a stick, one of the kids toys is what you'll need. Only two bolts and I think they're an 18mm or 19mm, not positive.

i think they are a 13 or a 15mm that hold the rear seat back on

13mm

and if you remove that worthless X brace, you can just crawl back there...unless you have a huge box with 2 12s, then not so easy

Hey ya'll I got the keys out. Sapp have ya'll came up with the conclusion on whether the x-brace was "useless" or not? or Is it just different opinions from everyone? I missed the ending of that thread last week or so! And I am glad I did'nt have the MOJO's back there I would'nt have been able to get them out. I appreciate ya'll it was a 13mm!!!

In my personal cars application it's useless, I don't rally race...
Not only was it useless, it was an impossible henderance when trying to push that box thru the back hole...

Sorry, wut? Didnt catch what you said. Could you repeat that?

BTW, brace does make a difference. What do you always say when you get in my car? "Why is your car so much tighter and more controlled?"

Ill give you a hint. Braces.

Mudda fukka, your FRAME braces give you that,Plus wider wheels, plus air ride, let's prove me wrong and cut your X out :D

until then...I'm right

Once you've gone through the back seat, put some dynamat or fatmat across the "X" for sound suppression before putting the back seat back on.

From my last thread about the x is that it was pretty 50 50...i didnt end up cutting it and just did the rear deck blow through w/ just the 2 12's.

And i'm very suprised how well the marks trunk is handeling the vibrations. All i did was deaden the rear deck on top(x2) and bottom and it barely makes any noise..With my caprice w/ the entire trunk deadened and in some places double it still was ratteling alot . same for my marquis w/ 3 12" r's. Though i was running atad more power in the cap and marquis.
