and your point is? do you want me to drag the motor from the GT into this?
Sure, I mean, after all, that motor only costs ~$35,000. :shifty:
Come on man. Ford has motors to match against GM.
There's no more '03/'04 Cobras on the lot. Lightning is gone. Well, we
could go buy a GT I guess. I've got $150K laying around that I don't need...
I don't understand your argument. GM has what, 3 cool rwd platforms? CTS, STS and the Vette? And I guess the GTO. Then there's the pickups. Wow, so that's it for their cool engines.
Ford has... um... Well there's the Mustang (which is slow)... and... uh..
Where are your "all kinds of cars"? I only count 4, and the nice V8 engines are ONLY available in special models, without exception.
See above.
Ford has the Cobra, the GT, and had the Lightning - So where is this huge disparity in engines here?
Ford has neither the cobra nor the lightning, and the GT is so far out of even most affluent people's price range that is borders on absurdity to even mention it.
When the new Shelby becomes available, it will be fast - but still out-done by the corvette (naturally aspirated).
You talk like I can go into a Chev dealership and get a sweet V8 in any car, when it's clearly limited to just a few models, special models at that. So really, no difference from Ford....I guess since there's one more model from GM with a cool V8 option, then I guess that's a huge disparity. I counted the SSR as part of the trucks.
See above.
The worst part of this?
I'm a Ford guy
I've owned seven 5.0 Mustangs in one form or another, two Lincoln Mark VIIs, and two Lincoln Mark VIIIs. I've never owned another brand of vehicle.
I'm part of the group let down when Ford falls behind other manufacturers in the performance arena. Sh!t, a new Mustang can get whacked by a Neon with the proper mods, and the Neon is cheaper!
What a sad state of affairs it is these days for Ford Performance. What's worse, is that GMs financial troubles will probably result in the demise of a solid chunk of their performance division, and rising gas prices due to speculation will probably quash what's left.
